[Spam] Philip Glass Remix

We had to do a remix for class. We could only use the
original CD track, and 2 drumloops, and do all sorts of DSP
as sound design.

Anywho, this is Primacy Of Number, from the Naqoyqatsi
soundtrack (which is mad hot)

So, enjoy :)

Okay I lied, i listened to it.

I dont really like those strings, the melody isn't so hot at
the beginning. The panned percussion is good, as are the
other misc background sounds. It gets a little cooler as it
goes on and becomes more agressive. The chords and chord
change placements are appropriate, but the melodies within
them dont really do anything for me. I cant comment on it as
a remix because I haven't heard the original.

It was great production as usual, but I like some of your
other songs a lot better than this one.

very nice percussion.. contrasts nicely with the strings.. I
was digging the altered rhythm on the strings in the
middle.. that "skippin" sound. just for record, what
software do you use? if any?

i like this allot, i have hardly heard anything by glass but
this has reminded me to check him out.

the track was nicely produced i agree on that and i really
like the drum programming, it's pretty straight forward but
not as straight forward that it gets boring, it has a
perfect amount of variation imo.
The whole attitude of the track is great, kinda cocky in
that old school electro way and with strings that suites
that attitude very well.

nice job

Hmm, I do actually sort of like it, even if what follows may
seem a little negative. It is definitely a track with ego,
but it sounds a little like electronic music by numbers. I
did actually get bored towards the end. The sounds used and
the production are top quality as always, but I still feel
you lack emotion and meaning in your music. It'd kind of
like a technical specification manual when it should be a
crime thriller.

HOLY CHRIST THATS GOOD. Thats 10 pounds of holy in a 5 pound
bag! Sounds like it would be on a movie, some movie with a
futuristic theme like AI. It actually reminds me of where
leeloo is in the cab around the first half of The Fifth
Element. Very good, 3 1/2 thumbs up.

I agree with ecnadniarb fully. To me, this (and most of the
other stuff from you I've heard, sorry) just sounds like it
was made to be used in some computer game/tv
programme/advert rather than to be enjoyed as a jolly good
song. If that's what you want, then cool-fries all round!

but its still vERY good for his limited recourses (original
track and only 2 drum loops)
