Read this story -- Florville and Courval : it could possibly be the best mid-length story you read this year. It's in the Arrow edition of the One Hundred & Twenty Days of Sodom. The Denouement is fantastically hilarious. |

The short story is not related to 120 Days of Sodom - it just happened to be included in the edition I have - which has other texts besides 120 Days. I'm saddened at the lack of response concerning De Sade ! He was a visionary! |

The alarming thing about the 120 Days of Sodom, well ok, one of the alarming things is, despite its engorged length, you'll notice towards the last third it get's to be more list like, just detailing the acts that took place, because it wasn't finished properly. So had he actually fleshed out all 120 days the book would be the size of, I don't know, a very very big book. My favourite character was, in my translation anyway, Bum Cleaver. |
