...Is a really fuggin' excellent album. It's amazing how
"close" all the warp artists were to each other in terms of
their tracks at first... this comp could almost be the work
of one person. Very precise, pristine kind of sound, and
very very great. I'd go as far as saying it was the start of
the whole "Eye Dee Emm" shebang as a coherent, defined force
(aside from IDM being a mainly interweb term)... a bit
removed from the bleep / acid thing of years previous, and
all the more pleasing for it.

Ahh fuck, i was about 6 when it was released, so what do i
know?

It makes me sad that nobody is replying. It means that:

a) nobody has heard it (unlikely)
b) nobody likes it (marginally more likely)
c) there've already been a million other threads concerning
it, and i hadn't noticed (i even checked the discog to see
if it was in there, honest guv)

Either way i'm sad.

Heh, i only guessed i was 6 when it was released. It seems
like a very 1992 release, and i can't be arsed checking the
sleeve.

Well it's one of my favourite records, I've played it
regularly since DS9mm was just 6, my faves on it are the
Autechre track, the CLASSIC B12 tracks (under the name
Musicology), Black Dog's CLASSIC CLASSIC "Clan" and even the
snip at the end of The Orb as a reminder of the first bit of
ambience I heard, wafting through the mist in a beautiful
place out in the country.

I just realised all the music I listen to is a quest to
capture again that moment in time. Damn.

"Clan" is my favourite black dog track of all time. Fact. It
makes me sad that they turned into plaid. And that alex
patterson track is amazing as well. No minnie ripperton
samples here, bitch.

Well I am glad you said that because so many people bang on
about how good Plaid are and that they don't have any time
for Black Dog. They're wrong, they're so fucking WRONG.
Plaid are dull as piss compared.

But we're not going to sully your great thread with that
argument, so please just ignore this post.

it is not about "having time", that age is history
and you can´t compare Plaid with the Black Dog

I'm not 100% sure what you mean, but I think the mighty
Black Dog do, and will continue to, stand the test of time
better than the weak, coffee shop electronica that is Plaid.
