yeah he fucked up twice in that one question.

I think Cheney won this debate.

Cheney pretty much summed it up by saying, edwards own
people of NC have a nicknamed him 'Senator Gone'. Cheney's
quoted as saying " You are the most absent senator...as VP I
preside every tuesday, and Senator the first time I ever met
you was tonight when you walked out onto the stage." Anyone
notice how scared Edwards looks and how much his beety eyes
blinks so much. The Vice Prez is turning him into dog meat
hehehe

yeah but Bush took it in the rectum when he went up against
Kerry. So the debates have kinda evened themselves out.

kerry won in clarity i give him that, but in substance bush
did well because anyone who is clearminded can tell kerry
contradicted himself numerous times. saying he will try to
increase other countries to participate in helping the
coalition but then goes off and says our current allies are
the bribed and coerced. what about the global test remark. i
can go on and on. the guy is looney.

Bush wasn't any better in substance because he didn't
actually say anything except "WE NEED TO BE STRONG".

Okay, now Cheney is getting all apocolyptic. "AT ANY MOMENT
A TERRORIST COULD SMUGGLE A NUCLEAR OR BIOLOGICAL WEAPON
INTO OUR COUNTRY AND KILL.... _YOU_!!!"

I actually missed the beginning, but neither of these guys
impress me.

yes, you need a television to watch the debates. Questions
are as follow:

Do you have a television?

If so, did you watch the debates in their entirety?

If yes, were you listening to the debates, or where you
doing something else at the time?

Bush is a hypocritical nut. I think his entire presidency's
integrity should be questioned. I'm not terrible fond of
Kerry or Edwards, but damn, there isn't really a whole lot
involved in making a good decision. At this point I feel
the US is becoming more and more like the terrorist, except
we have better weapons, more money, and more excuses. If
Bush does somehow get re-elected I will seriously consider
moving to Canada. You never here about Canada going around
invading countries that "support" terrorist. To be extreme,
re-electing Bush is almost asking for a civil war because a
lot of people are really pissed off about it. Just my
opinion though. :)

cheney is a seasoned politician/business tycoon. he's used
to being in the hotseat. not to mention he's twice edward's
age, and he's probably the most powerful man on the planet.
seems like a really intelligent fellow... too bad he is
driven by the will of satan.

little intimidating for such a young buck as edwards.

and, this qwen chick was asking horribly broad, open ended
questions that allowed both parties to squirm around
actually coming near an answer to the questions. she was a
pretty horrible moderator. it was an overall snoozefest.

but Chaney did seem more authoritive of the two liars on the
stage.

Vice President Dick Cheney said Tuesday night that the
debate with Democratic Sen. John Edwards marked the first
time they had met. In fact, the two had met at least three
times previously.

Cheney made the remark while accusing Edwards of frequent
absences from Senate votes.

"Now, in my capacity as vice president, I am the president
of Senate, the presiding officer. I'm up in the Senate most
Tuesdays when they're in session. The first time I ever met
you was when you walked on the stage tonight," Cheney told
Edwards during the debate.

On Feb. 1, 2001, the vice president thanked Edwards by name
at a Senate prayer breakfast and sat beside him during the
event.

On April 8, 2001, Cheney and Edwards shook hands when they
met off-camera during a taping of NBC's "Meet the Press,"
moderator Tim Russert said Wednesday on "Today."

On Jan. 8, 2003, the two met when the first-term North
Carolina senator accompanied Elizabeth Dole to her
swearing-in by Cheney as a North Carolina senator, Edwards
aides also said.

i thought edwards started much stronger than he ended. but
both are shrewd/skilled debaters. i might give the win to
cheney but only slightly, and only on style and composure.
in my opinion, edwards did a very good job of attacking
cheney's and the bush administration's record. he was also
very effective at countering many of cheney's remarks,
exposing much of the inherent hypocracy and inconsistancy.

it was a very good debate, much more evenly matched than
the Bush/Kerry debate.

!!

doesn't it bother anyone that the best (or if not best, well
then certainly the one that gets parrotted 50 times a day,
and has been for months and months) reason Republicans came
come up with for voting for them is that they won't change
their minds on things? isn't that kind of a retarded thing
to say before you even know what happens?

don't forget "we've been looking at the same intelligence!"

"Mr. Vice President, you have a remarkable voting record in
Congress. In your considerable term there, you voted
against: Meals on Wheels for Senior Citizens, a holiday
recognizing Martin Luther King, the release of Nelson
Mandela, free headphones in coah class, nets of any kind on
public baksetball hoops, self-adhesive stamps, USB ports,
journalists have even unconvered the rough workings of a
bill, sponsored by you, that would criminalize, quote, 'all
telephone handsets not connected to the cradle by means of a
curly wire.'"

I doubt Edwards was that intimidated by Cheney, he is an
experienced trial lawyer who has no doubt been in high
pressure positions before. I was especially amused when
Edwards would demand eye contact of Cheney while making his
accusations.

Cheney, on the other hand seemed to fidget with his hands a
lot, look down at the table a lot, and he even covered his
mic a bit here and there while folding his hands under his
chin.

I still think Cheney was a much smoother talker over all,
making less mistakes/ trip-ups. That's damn impressive
considering he was spewing BS most of the time.

!!

wasn't it funny how Edwards would rip pages out of his
notebook while Cheney was talking? And how you could hear
Cheney snickering while Edwards was talking?

i thought it was funny. i quite enjoyed that debate!

Nobody expected either Edwards or Cheney to tear down their
opposing party. I think the Dems and The GOP require more
than a vice presidential debate to accomplish that.
