hey ho everybody, i have just uploaded short mp3 clips on
my website for you all to preview. each clip is about 15
seconds long, but they give you an idea of what the track
sound like. so far, only four albums have clips, two for
each album...i have a lot of music here so bear with me.

invisible man: found

click the link, click on the cassette tape, listen to
samples from the possibility of anti-gravity pockets,
f(stop minus), effects similar to antacid hitting the
digestive system,
and i love animals. enjoy!

some good clips in there. i particularly liked "recalling
an event of sand in my shoes".

what do you use to record this stuff? the drums sound nice.

thanks, glad you could hear them!

there are actually 3 versions of that song...that one, a
faster one, and a slower, jazzier one.

basically, i've always used cheap shure mics ($10 each) for
all instruments. one mic hanging above, one infront or
inside bass, and lately one for snare. each mic goes to
individual tracks on a tascam 414mk portastudio, then mixed
to one channel. my bro stole some old mics from his high
school when he graduated, so i've been incorporating those
into there as well. but for that track, all shure mics.

from there i mix into creative recorder on my pc, then
editing in cooledit 2000.

funny...i've never been satisfied with the sound of my
drums...

thanks for the detailed reply! your drums sound very decent
for that setup. you must know just the right place to put
those mics... :) i have a hard time getting a good drum
sound - i'm surprised you don't need a preamp or anything
like that.

actually, i bet the tape has something to do with it. i bet
the tape makes it warmer-sounding. and you probably have a
good ear for recording.

r40f: thanks, i appreciate the interest! it most likely is a
result of tape warmth. i am very picky about how things
sound, so if i say it's horrible, it's probably not all
that bad. :D

qrter: yes, indeed he is under the faucet
