US Helicopter Fires Upon Civilians

For Info: "Militants pounded central Baghdad with one of
their most intense mortar barrages ever, targeting the Green
Zone and destroying a US vehicle along a major street.

At least 13 people were killed and 55 wounded when a US
helicopter fired at crowds around the vehicle, Iraqi
officials said."

- "A US Apache attack helicopter swooped down and opened
fire around the Bradley. Witnesses said several people,
including a correspondent for the Arabic language Al-Arabiya
television station, were killed."

This kinda shit makes me fucking pissed off with the US
force. For them it's all force and no tact. Fucking idiots.

i know, but this doesnt change the fact that there are
allways mistakes. if you start the war you nend to count
them - if not, there would be no wars.

that's nice to say when you're anywhere NOT involved with
that war, but to the people who died and their families, it
means shit all.

I'm surprised this is even on the news, considering how
often it happens.

that might be the worst thing - it doesn't surprise you
anymore. it's become normal.

I would like, at this juncture, to make a comparison to the
thread you bumped about people wanting to read nasty sites
filled with evil details.. at the same time lots of people
want to read that shit, but the continuieng nastiness on the
news just becomes "boring".

Ex-act-ly. It's strange how quickly we can adapt to the
murder of people who might be just like us. If the
reports were filled with gruesome details about crying
children, blown-off limbs, and weeping mothers, people might
actually take some notice.

That's scary in itself to be honest, we have to have the
graphic bloody detail to even care about what's going on.

Who cares if a couple more towel heads are removed from
existance...at least they won't be claiming asylum in the UK
now.

to think that people would actually voluntarily want
to live in the UK.. that alone should be proof enough that
these people come from a country in terrible war with some
other country or maybe a spacesquid or evil thoughts coming
from Jason Holland.

WTF?!!

I just seen this on the news, there was a reporter talking
to the camera and their were crowds of 'civilians' around
the tank and 'boom!' the US Apache helicopter fires both
missiles and machine gun down on them.

The reporter, two children and more were killed.

CRAZY, WTF were they thinking?!

offline pantalaimon from Winterfell (United Kingdom) on 2004-09-12 16:28 [#01333094]

the Apache helicopters were instructed by the US military to
destroy the vehicle to prevent looting...

Worth killing 13 people, I think not.

I think you mean the pilot killed 13 people.

well, yes the pilot... are they really allowed to fire on
civilians like that? Missiles and machine gun fire on a
crowd of civilians? Thats crazy,

well, at the other hand, some of these civils are
responsible for all these attacks on soldiers, and for
kidnappin' and head-cutting, so lets say straight- it seems
the chances of hitting bad guys were big enough to US
military goverment , coz i dont believe in "mistaken shot".
all these operations are so codificated and theres so many
restrictions, that mistakes are almost imposible.

"some of these civils are responsible for all these attacks
on soldiers,"

you said it, "some" may have been... so they fire missiles
on children and civilians because some "might" have been
responsible for attacks on soldiers? Still, it doesn't
surprise me.

probably thats the way the US military goverment thinks- its
not my opinion, its how i see the way of thinking of
american goverment - i said once im sorry for those who
died.
but really, do you believe in SUCH accidents ?
if this would be a car accident, but not fuckin missiles in
crowd, man.
thats shockin for me too, but i think that US might have
some purpose in it- and of course you will never hear it
from officials.

"i feel sorry for those who died, its just that im not very

Wrong. In an attempt to avoid war, Saddam complied with all
of the demands that the US made and as we all know, there
were no WMDs anyway. So tell me, in what way could he have
been "smarter" and avoided the war?

he could be smarter in past - avoidin' war with iran, gasing
innocent peoples- these fact made the war happen, not the
fact from months before war. imo.
saddam has been stupid in past, and in last few months
before invading iraq, he could do nothing.

The "fact" that made the war in Iraq lies far, far beneath
the ground.

30mm rounds that are made to penetrate armor (i.e, tanks)
are rarely used to fight off crowds.

AH-64s are not sent into battle (i.e., mission) to fight off
ground forces.

Please, get some facts before posting.

I don't really know what the war was for, other than maybe
the classic spread of democracy. The wmd thing is retarded,
but if he did have them, he had just under a years worth of
advanced warning to hide them or transport them elsewhere...

not you again.

There was a crowd around the vehicle (the pilot fired at the
vehicle, probably knowing people around it would be killled)
just people standing there looking, including children. You
can't say its not true because it was caught on camera...
the reporter talking into the camera was killed when the
missile hit.

Great way to make more people love the US. Your so going to
get rid of terrorism this way.
