Oasis: boorish, parodic, lumpen dadrock that halted innovation in music for 5 years. They already sound far more dated than their alleged great influence The Beatles, and they are a blight on a nation's collective cultural memory.

Even more than Oasis I hate all the fucking bands that dropped what ever shit they were doing at the time aand fell over themselves to be Oasis-y. Andy Bell with that fucking Hurricane #1, Embrace stopped being the shit pixies and went "cod anthemic", even the Verve re-reunited to do a shit Verve-lite album after Parker banged on about them.

''Definitely Maybe'' is some rock solid... rock. And I like Morning Glory for what it is... meaningless, catchy hooks. That album is full of strong pop songwriting, Noel has undeniable talent. If he had a second, more rational head to go with his current inflated head, he could craft some dreamy pop.
But the video for All Around the World really nauseated me. It went beyond mere reverence and tribute... it's almost like they thought they were taking The Beatles' influence to the next logical level, with the big elaborate production that The Beatles could only dream of back then. And the 128 track, layered recording. Soulless garbage, the shark was jumped.
And yet, I've still got the refrain stuck in my head 7 years later. Noel has a knack.

i like some Oasis a lot (even though most of their albums are hit and miss, except Definitely Maybe and The Masterplan if you can could The Masterplan as an album). but i'm biaised, it has a sentimental value for me as it was the first rock band i really got into...
DJ Xammax > isn't that from the Chemical Brothers? (which i still have to check out by the way, i've heard stuff by them but i still don't have any opinion about them) - what an avatar you have, by the way.

Yeah but it has Noel Gallagher. So you could sorta say it was Chemical Brothers feat. Oasis. Great track.
And thanks about the avatar... it really is something isn't it?
