i dont like the name "inteligent dance music". i think
inteligent dance music is chemical brothers and fatboy slim
because they earn millions dollars and i dont, neither aphex
twin or autechre.
"braindance" sucks too.
My favorite its warp's "listenable eletronic music".
but someone here could suggest a better name for the songs
we call "idm".

to be honest i prefer either of these terms: "Avant Garde"
or simply "Music"

"Music" is the best one, because there are so many
sub-styles that fall into the vein of tracks we all listen
to here, you can't really pin it down to one genre so it's
best just to call it "Music"

btw, this topic has been started over and over and over and
over again

:)

yeah, we've been over this. i like your viewpoint on the
intelligence of the chembro's and the fatboy compared to the
twin and ae though.

btw:
WELCOME BACK!!!!
:DDDDDDDDDDD

you're new, so i guess you can't be blamed, but just so you
know - this has been discussed a million times already on
this board... ^^

no one likes the term "intelligent dance music". but people
keep using "IDM" anyway (or "braindance" sometimes, though
braindance makes more think of the Rephlex label). = )

("listenable electronic music" doesn't mean anything, the
only *unlistenable* electronic music i know is stuff by a
japanese artist called *0 who uses frequencies too high or
too low to be heard by human ears o_O)

"because they earn millions dollars and i dont, neither
aphex
twin or autechre. "

im pretty sure afx and autechre are not in it for the money.
and why would be getting money out of music intelligent? :)
