Everyone should post some of the most interesting tricks
you've done (that you're willing to share) in your music,
anything that's neat

Like reversing a sample, then adding an effect to it, then
reversing it again so it's like reverse reverb, or delay, or
whatever

Over compressing something so all the little details can be
heard and then chopping it to pieces

Making a video game that composes music as you play it, each
different score or move a different midi control

modulating a sound with a 22050 hz square wave
(the kind that goes from 0 dB to -inf dB, not (+)0 to (-)0
dB)
you could also change the frequency over time

or, modulate with a similar square wave that goes full/zero
volume to the beat, so you get a stuttery effect. maybe add
some reverb

if you have no idea what im on about, ill post a sample

radical use of denoiser plugins (i use the one from waves)
makes nice melodies, especially if you use orchestral
samples.

example: from 3:33 and onwards

oh, in addition to my post above: it should also be
interesting to use sounds that consists of noise with lots
of fluctuating frequenties...

what's also usefull is that when you found a certain
'method' to treat/mess up your samples, use a batch
converter (or save the plugin-chain) to use the 'method'
with different samples again and again and again and again
and again and.....

towards the end of this track, there is just a
part of the silence at the end of the piano I played with
volume on full, which brings out the sounds that comes from
noise-reduction and some stuff that my cdrom for some reason
makes when plugged into my soundcard, which always get into
the recordings...

this track was made with only one tone, which is the
tone when pressing one on a telephone, and it was recorded
from far away, so noise-reduction and vibrato and stuff was
necessary.

Making melodies with feedback loops (you can do this in
Reason, one of the really cool things about it)
