saw plaid last night.

plaid was really good. the stage was huge and they had
lovely videoscreen things, a big round one and two normal
screens on each side. they played, what i would consider an
'even' gig with songs from their albums. but since i haven't
seen plaid gigs before i can't really know. they also showed
some quite nice and slighty disturbing videos. (featuring
for example news about iraq)

the gig was part of a bigger electronic music festival
called koneisto, now taking place in helsinki. christ also
performed live and played a very mellow gig at the outside
chillout which was too cold to be in, so i spent the time on
another stage listening to a surprisingly great singer dani
siciliano. her gig was easily the best one there.. also a
very surprising gig came from a finnish band called matala,
kind of björkish stuff. i had some good spring roll and a
few expensive beers and caught even a glimpse of richie
hawtins dj set. there were many stages and a great many
artists so i missed some, i hear jimi tenor had a good gig.

today the festival continues and i am planning to see the
streets, akufen, and the lefthanded and matthew herbert.

ive seen plaid twice, first at roskilde 01 then at 04
again.. at 04 LFO cancelled and plaid took theyre place
(that was great i think)

at rosk01 plaid was pretty good, i wasnt too familiar with
them back then but im pretty sure they played allot of
tracks from double figure.. i was pretty drunk and tired at
that time so it was just a great moment for me to calm down
and enjoy.

at 04 they kind of. sucked.. the only tracks i even recall
knowing was stills and new family, they where both great as
i know those tracks..
then the rest was.. dont really know but it sounded like
somthing i have never heard from plaid.. it was pretty
technoish.. and i cant recall hearing any typical plaid
melodys.
And that kinda sucked, i was a bit dissapointed becouse of
the techno sounding stuff..

but hell, luke vibert was kick ass! playing my red hot car
=D his set was really really nice and dancy and filled with
action, didnt get bored a second.

I guess you didn´t hear Spokes before you went to Roskilde?

the problem is that i did, not extremely much, ive listened
to the album about 2 or 3 times..

i expected the set to be allot of spokes.. but i couldnt
hear any familar tracks even from spokes in there, might be
that i have not gotten really heavy into spokes yet, but i
thought i should recodnise at least something.

the screens where enjoyable anyway, and i do take back that
i said there set kind of sucked, it didnt suck at all, it's
just a totally different live experience of you know the
tracks a bit better..

i guess i can blame that tent a bit =) bad sounding in
there, plaid has allot of high bright frequences and they
didnt work too well in there.

but yeah.. ok.. it was a pretty good time

good day! "put spokes in the cd player"

i think random logic are playing on this festival...go see
them if you get a chance, they're pretty great live.

I was there too. It was real nice, but did they have some
trouble with the software, or was it just to annoy people by
stopping best songs suddenly?

I love Chris Clark, would have loved to see that..
