I'm trying to put about 4Gb on a DVD-R.. because I had to remove my larger drive, and now I'm running out of space on my main drive. Nero says I can't create the image file because I don't have enough free space.. how big are these file sizes?? are theyproportionate to the amount of data you're putting on the disc?

The image will be as big as all of the data you're burning, but you shouldn't need to make one. Check you have the right recorder selected, i.e. your actual drive rather than nero image recorder.
