I never read much about Freud, directly or indirectly. But now I find him interesting because I just read he was greatly influenced by darwin, and theorized that reproduction would be central to the mind since it is central in evolution. |

I just read an article in which a scientist states that reproduction as such isn't central, but getting sexual relief is. this ofcourse enlarges the chances of procreation, but it's not what is most important. it's a subtle difference. another article I read stated that our bodies are designed to grow up in about 20 years, to then have our own kids and see them grow up healthily in 20 years. at the age of 40 the human body would then become the evolutionary equivalent of "redundant". |
