When people list artists they listened to/grew up with as major influences on their own work.
Without listing groups/artists and their said influences - It's always fun to try and pick out HOW exactly said obscure artists fit in with their sound.
I'd site The Human Leage, Tears for Fears and The Wu as mine -- Go figure.

an endless list..... kate bush , yes, david bowie, hip hop, panasonic, film music, early rza productions, skam, albert, my family and friends, rick wakeman, detroit, gainsbourg, photography, scott walker, touch records, joy division, bilitis ost, nick drake, dm, tricky, monoid and loads loads more. yeah human league as well, even tears for fears!
i like to think that even stuff we dislike influences us.

Guitar Song Music - Syd Barrett, Leonard Cohen, Velvet Underground
Piano Music - Chopin
Electronic Music - LFO, AfX

Umm... tangerine dream, fog, rachel's, xinlisupreme, hafler trio, gy!be, chris watson, jeffrey lewis, leafcutter john, low, john coltrane, number stations / shortwave broadcasting, field recordings, found sounds, various sound-installation and video artists... on the music front, anyway.
