you may want to check this out

smotan mc & shamanez - defloracia

this is an electronic hip-hop album by two bulgarians.
shamanez is in charge of the programming, smotan mc - in
charge of the rhymes. very pervert and unlike any other
hip-hop i've ever heard. it would be much better if you can
understand the lyrics but even if you don't - go for it. you
would appreciate the music for sure. you may also have a
look ot their website smotan.tk although you'll have a
language problem again.

"smotan" means something like lame or inadequate. but the mc
rules. it's just his style is so sarcastic it even shows in
his name.

wouldn't it? ok, i'll stop now :)

actually wraped not warped...ahh

well... it's really possible to translate smotan like
wrapped but it's really very very very rarely used with that
meaning. on my scale "very very very rarely" means
theoretically never. it's generally used meaning "lame".

but let's not turn the thread into a dictionary. :) check
the album. it would be also nice to see how what people that
don't understand the lyrics appreciate this.

the first link in my first post is the link to the album.
it's actually the first DOWNLOAD link on the first and only
download page. uh... what a nasty sentence!

the other links in the download section are to live shows ,
some instrumentals, even a small comic strip.

language when it comes to swearing :)

electronic hip hop is, in my opinion, still a ways from
having a nice presence. from what i've heard at this point,
nautilis is the first thing that comes to mind, the rapping
is either extremely white-hoppy or the beat is kind of a
standalone glitch track that would rather slither around
than stand still and give the MC room to operate.

i think over the next 2-3 years you'll see some people make
progress on bridging the gap. certainly, i think there's
room for slightly more technical aphex twin sounding hip hop
beats, however, you dont want to overdo it and have an
off-beat MC.

the actual raps can't evolve like the beats can, so
realistically, i think you're going to have to stick to some
conventions like repetition, otherwise it's really hard to
stay focused as a rapper.

that said, i dont expect vsnares and buck 65 to hook up
anytime soon =D

actually a recipient of the gold star for the day? =D
