go to sister ray's in berwick street, in fact don't forget
to do all the record shops in berwick....lots of deals and
hidden gems if you look around properly. mind you sister
ray's can be pricey if they are in the know. such cocks
sometimes, but i found lots of stuff there when i lived in
vomit city.

Last time i was down in london i got ridiculously lost, so i
have no concrete advice. Damn my lack of direction. That
massive HMV i found was good though. I spent a couple of
hours in there.

It's almost scary it's that huge. I was wandering around
trying to find tower records when i wandered into the
behemoth. 3 floors and they're all crammed full of goodies.
I'm almost glad i was broke when i found it... i could have
spent thousands in there.

I hated London when I went there. Overcrowded, overpriced,
overripe (it stinks). Overall, overrated.

Agreed. London smells like mutant sweat and has too many
people in it. I'm not a huge london fan.

London has many pleasures but many faults. I think if you
find the good bits, yer pretty much set. I'm going to be
spending a lot of time in manchester come september, as most
of my friends are moving there for uni.

Go to the scruffiest looking pub you can find for a pint
that won't bladder you instantly

Heh, my nan lives in moss-side in the roughest bit of The
Mank, so i think i'll be able to handle everything the city
has to throw at me :D

Seriously though, i like manchester a lot better than
london. Friendlier people, cheaper shops, less violent
atmosphere... y'all should stay up northz.

I like London for a bit, but after about 24 hours it really
gets me down. The smell, the filth, the people, walls
everywhere going way too high, all these street names that
are supposed to mean something to me but don't... there's
something inherently wrong about the whole place.

Aye, one of my friends has relatives in darlington and he
likes it well enough when he goes to stay. Well enough not
to stay there more than a couple of weeks mind. I kinda have
mixed feelings on big cities... manchester and liverpool
seem quite friendly and relaxed, but i dunno if i could live
there, just too many people. I've got used to rubbish
smalltown life, sad as that fact is.

The manchester i have inhabited when walking around oldham
street on saturday afternoons and the manchester clubs i
have wandered into late at night intoxicated on that night's
choice of chemical. Mind you, the manchester i've stayed in
FOLLOWING these experiences has been more intimidating and
violent than friendly.

As a side note: two people were murdered in the flat next to
my nan's, both shot in the head. That isn't precisely
friendly.

"intoxicated on that night's choice of chemical"

that might be a key phrase in your appraisal of
Manchester..

enough of the london-bashing, kids!

whilst it is scarily polluted and not the most friendly of
places after dark, it's a small price to pay to live in such
an ace city. london has all the gigs, raves, theatre,
galleries and other awesome random fun things to do. it's
steeped in history with amazing architecture hidden in the
most unlikely of places. right now, i honestly couldn't
imagine living anywhere else! (when i'm rich (hah!) i do,
however, plan to have a dingy london 'pad' and a really
remote village cottage where no one can find me. ever. but
that's another story altogether :p)

i can see why you non-city folk might find it a little
off-putting tho'. many of my non-london friends have found
it intimidating initially, but that's understandable if
you’re not used to it.

i'm sure you'll have a great time, anus!
when i'm feeling more energetic (and sober ;) ) i'll make
you a nice little list of super-cool things to do. SHABBA!

people up at night? What is all this saftey talk? Who would
