After running ad-aware, and spybot, I am still getting
pop-up ads served. I noticed this running in task manager,
but a google search doesn't bring up a single result for
wvccca.exe.

Any info on what it is? Thanks,

sounds like the devil... fucking delete that shit....

and do a search for "hijackthis", (for intermediate to
advanced computer literates only), but its a powerfull
anti-spyware tool.

Awesome, now I can finally fix some other stuff too, like my
404 page not found being set to something like gay like
www.1-search.net.

I still can't find any info on \system32\wvccca.exe, but
since I've never seen it before, I will just delete it.

Whoa, I don't know what the fuck is going on, but the last
two times I have restarted, new spyware has come up. I'm
goddamn infected.

processes run at startup.

I dealt with something similar that kept dropping an exe
file called wmplayer.exe in the system32 folder on a friends
computer. Obviously he didn't realise it was dodgy because
it shares the name with the windows media player executable.
Anyway to cut a long story short and shit, I had to
manually go through the registry removing entries relating
to it, then delete all the files manually associated with
it. It was a complete pain in the arse.

Norton's Registry Editor will do some nifty search stuff, or
maybe there's another advanced regedit application?

An interesting way to cause trouble with viruses is by
mutating existing ones, not creating new ones from scratch.
I thought of this when I read of the "bill gates will give
you lots of money if you send this email to a bunch of
people" chain letter. Other versions such as "disneyland
will..." etc came about and started replicating too. Then I
ate a hotdog.

most virus' are variations on previous ones anyway.

Yeah, it seems to be doing that.

Each time I search with hijack this after a reboot, msbb.exe
is there, and it also finds something else with seemingly
random letters, like fcvxnb.exe.

I just have to find the source... If I can... GOD HELP ME.

Need some help mapp?

This sounds like a virus I had to deal with a while ago,
fast replicating, random exe names, trouble after
rebooting.

Have you updated the definitions (signatures) databases in
these programs from the internet ? Also, with Ad-aware, are
you running a custom (in-depth, scan ALL files, even zips)
scan, then try scanning?
Try Spyware Blaster, as well

And this one I just started using.. "A Squared"

What Antivirus do you use? And have you updated that to the
latest definitons? I know, no AV is totally secure /
complete, but the major ones are a good choice. I hear NOD32
is supposed to be one of the best... Try one of those free
online AV Scanners if you don't have one installed.

Try this plugin for Ad-aware, it might work for you
