it appears that in my last tune posted "Ruby" the "Cigarro
Outro" which i was so happily plugging, was a bit of a
fraud. It seems that Amon Tobin sampled the exact same latin
record as i did, when somebody asked me "why is amon tobin
"nova" at the end of your track?

to cut a long story short, i am completely humiliated
(despite the fact we did slightly differant things with the
loop) and now i am extremely concerned of being thought of
as some sort of sampling cheat... etc etc.

here is the track again with the outro in case nobody heard
it the first time
Maudlin - Ruby

the incriminating bit is the last 30 seconds. i just wanted
to clear this up, and wouldnt mind more people listening to
"ruby" anyhow ;)

here is a promo image!

thanks.
_james.

this is a hot track, even without the sample. reminds me of
alpha from a different viewpoint. i really like the part
after 3.00. my only criticism is it seems like the mix
could use more treble and midrange at parts, especially the
vocal and bass. thanks for sharing.

Who gives a shit? It sounded good. Sampling is all about
recontextualization. Its not the sample that you use, its
the context in which you use it. And you used it well

Squarepusher almost always uses the infamous "Amen" break,
which has been done to death in drum and bass. But he makes
it sound fresh as fuck because he uses it in such a creative
and personal way.

end of the video and you are set

me, catching a fish, as i speed past a lake on a motorcycle
with a fishing rod protruding from the rear of my harley.
