any updates on the releases (LP, 2 'acid/analogue' EPs,
respectively) that these two artists are supposedly coming
with this year?? or was that afx thing bullshit

offline thecurbcreeper from United States on 2004-07-08 21:19 [#01270902]
Points: 6045 Status: Lurker

perhaps the rumoured afx only turned out to be the collapse
of the wave function series.

the wave function series..?

doesn't sound like afx at all, if it is, he now completely
sucks at music

i'm not saying it is him. what i'm saying is, when it was
first heard about the collapse of the wave function series (
see here theo ) it was thought to be afx. this being the
big rumoured release, which didn't turned out to be him at
all.

COTWF is Ed DMX... new BoC is "still slated for a 2004
release but was delayed a bit for good reasons..."

I don't know of any new Aphex stuff coming out with the
exception of that Spectral Musicians project and Rubber
Johnny (the series).

Those might not even come out this year, either.

I'm unsure of any afx coming out this year for sure, but
there has been some strong indications of it happening...
like grant dropping luvley afx acid in his "rephlex 04" set,
and (sigh) cylob's melyseg titka set, which no one seems to
care about. if you do care, check out that set, and whether
the "acid white label" is aphex or not, it's damn fine
stuff.

..and what is the Spectral Musicians project?

offline Joyrex from watmm.com (United States) on 2004-07-09 22:33 [#01272146]

A video project by Chris Cunningham with specially
commissioned works by Squarepusher and AFX.

from releasing music?

All good ones, I assure you - Everyone at Hexagon Sun is
really hyped about the album and easily says it's BoC's best
work yet.

that would make sense if the Hexagon Sun wasn't a vague
entity to begin with...

They are not a vague entity... they are friends of BoC, and
one of them I happen to have contact with. Simple as that -
no mystery involved. They're just people, you know.

No, not at all - album delays are not always caused by
business-related matters, y'know.

An aphex twin remix soon, eh? I wonder when he'll tire of
remixes and actually put out his own music again. Still,
some aphex is bette than no aphex (smojphace excluded).

say......i probably wouldn’t have been able to keep my
