I may be going there to work for a week or two at the end
of July and would like to know what it's like out there?

opportunity to spend between 2-3 weeks in Delhi, India
during July and August at the global call centre......."

The people we'll be trining will have to be able to speak
english as they will be dealing with customers from the UK
over the phone, so hopefully that shouldent be too much of
an issue

There was a curry house called "Curry Here" by me. They
closed on account of health and safety.

I had an indian friend in school and I used to go over her
house for authentic meals

Plus my father is friends with the owners of the local
indian round here and they do special dishes for us
sometimes =o)

When I was little I used to sit behind the counter and stuff
my face with after 8's !!!

They used to be colonizised by the brittish, you know, so
they speak good english, at least a lot of people do..

I went there in 2002. It's big as fuck. It's made up of a
bunch of different cities, like 9 or 10.
New Delhi was made by the Brittish (at least under the
British empire..). It's big avenues and not that crowded, a
bit boring on the whole..
"Old Delhi" is just totally mental the first time you get
there. Go to Jama Masjid, that's a big-as-fuck mosque, climb
up the tower at look out over the mess. After that just
brace yourself and enter the mosh pit..Old Delhi is narrow
alleys filled to the brim with indians, cows, rikshas, cars,
goats, dogs, fruit, trash, sweat, smoke, etc....almost
devoid of tourists too..
It's pretty claustrophobic for a westener but everyone was
really friendly and noone took the opportunity of
pick-pocketing some rich europeans..A wicked experience all
in all. Go to a barber shop and get a shave, get yourself a
nice suit tailor made in 24 hours for almost nothing..
The old parts are a lot less english speaking than New
Delhi..

The Delhi I saw wasn't full of foreigners at all, maybe it's
different now in the summer..

It's sort of hard to find a good place to get drunk and for
some mysterious reason you can't get a Big Mac..hehe..

"Go to a barber shop and get a shave"

not a nice thing to say to a lady.

Hey, I'd look like the Unabomber if the indians barbers
didn't keep me under strict surveillance..
