I've never laughed so hard -- this show is fantastically
hilarious - the best thing to come out of Japan, ever!

awesome. it's so silly - i love it! the triple-bills are
so good, especially accompanied by a joint or 3 :D
i think it would be better without craig charles' voice-over
tho' - hearing a mad japanese guy shouting over the top
would just add to the insanity of it all.

part of this show is aired in the states on spike tv. it's
called most extreme elimination challenge or something like
that. it just has a bunch of people doing strange obstacle
course things. at the end of every show it says 'taken from
takeshi's castle'.

It's called Most Extreme Elimination Challenge here, and
what I assume would be Japanese is overdubbed by goofy
Americans. And the show is the funniest thing I've ever
seen. Some girl fell off those rolling cylinders going over
the brook, and her body got caught between two of them as
she fell and she nearly snapped right in half. Got right up
though, what a trooper.

seriously. most contestants take falls that look they would
result in a trip to the hospital but then they get right up.

I saw Takeshi Kitano in Zatoichi the other day. Apparently
it is common for Japanese to be familiar with the ending
because it is such an enduring tale (over 20 films have been
made based on the character), but I was surprised to see
this particular take on it. Even when Takeshi's doing
serious damage, there is this inscrutable glint in his
eye... a hint of greater mischief.

I've only seen the US version of this show, the "Most
Extreme..." one -- the voiceovers were funny at first but
IMHO annoyed me after I went on the web and found out the
real story behind the gameshow was in fact quite a bit more
posh!!

Shades of that Simpsons episode where Homer and family go
through that lava/scorpions (?) thing.

that game where contestants wear those giant bowling-pin
costumes, and a giant bowling ball is sent hurtling towards
them is pure genius.
Like telica says, if you're stoned you laugh until it
hurts...

You don't have to be stoned.

i love this programme!
the pounding those poor fuckers take in "bridge-ball" is
criminal.
craig charles does come out with some genious comments
sometimes, in the early episodes you can tell he's bored
shitless. I think they must have upped his salary because
he's well into it now.

don't forget the raisins!

this program is hilarious. ophecks could be right, it sounds
like the commentators are not directly translating - but
they're very funny. the swimming through cement challenge is
classic.

is been on in the US for a few years now renamed as MXC
(Most Extreme Elimination Challenge).
I was curious, here in the states they dub in hilarious
american english voices, do they do the same with the
british version?

It's a great show meng : )

Zatoichi was fecking awesome too! I saw it in a french movie
theater, so the diologe was Japanese, and the sub titles
were french hehehe. I had no idea what the fuck was going on
but I just put 2 and 2 together.

It's about Sean Conner and T1000 right ?
