boyed by the beauty of the schnaus releases I've been
inclined to give CCO a go - buying the odd new ones here and
there - but they seem to be turning a lot of very similar
and pretty mediocre minimal - emotional - stuff at the
moment

discuss (or you'd like to move the thread onto the subject
of my enormous manhood this will also suffice)

i find the schnauss stuff pleasant but unchallenging. a bit
like lounge music, y'know? extremely well produced but
without ever taking any risks. middle-of-the-road
electronica... or MORIDM!

the arovane releases are classics tho. i've only heard one
static song but it's pretty great.

what's most worth getting in your opinion? i love the
melodic stuff but i like more interesting, fucked-up rhythms
than schnauss. metamatics is the perfect balance IMO.

yeah man...the fact that they are a part of the !k7 familly
is really smtn.
alongside with warp and neo ouja, cco brings out one of the
best releases imo.

no - is it worth a looksee?

on the other stuff - yes the whole formless cuts and clicks
thing is getting veyr old - fair play if you're as good at
it as dntel or someone then its a pleasurable experience -
it just seems to me that a lot of the new CCO stuff is
pretty aimless and contrite - "you'll love our defeatest
attitude" is the latest case in point - I mean its ok, but
its just kind of ok - I just think its been done to death
personally

City centre offices is one of my favorite labels.

Arovane - Tides is a classic. a must-have in my opinion.
Both ulrich schnauss albums are one of the best in my whole
cd collection.

A week ago i bought Firewire - a tribute to the manzani,
which is an interesting unusual CCO release, yet very nice.

The new remote viewer EP disappointed me.
The new Xela album was very nice. A little repetitive,
maybe. I've never liked the voice in the Static albums...
and what else....?

i really like the remote viewer "here i go again.."

all Dictaphone stuff (their last 12" is really cool, some
dark jazz stuff not unlike bohren und der club of gore
sometimes)

donato wharton

i like to clean with 'far away trains passing by' playing in
the background. that's about it really. nothing too amazing,
just a pleasant listen.

Ulrich's "A Strangely Isolated Place" is by far one
of my top-10 releases of 2003. A totally essential
album that has continued to grab my attention play
after play.

Arovane has always done a great job on CCO,
and his new album, "Lilies" doesn't really break
any new ground.. instead it continues where
"Tides" left-off.

I wish that Fizzarum would have done more
with CCO, their Domino album was (and still
is) a great listening experience.

CCO is a great label. Although I havent bought much of
there new stuff from this year, the 7" series has some great
moments. I thought the arovane, christian kleine,
solvent/lowfish, zorn and bitstream 7" were the best.
Christian Kleines 12"s arn't bad either on that label along
with the dictaphone records. Cashier Escape Route is also a
great comp. Love the skanfrom song!
