He (Andrew McKenzie... the sole person involved in the
hafler trio since the early 90's) is dying of hepatitis c,
so he has released an insane amount of music in the last
little while--partly to pay medical bills, partly to express
what he has left to express--korm plastics is going to be
reissuing a bunch of his old work (including the Kill the
King trio, which is fuckin awesome), as well as about 10-15
releases (most of them 10" and minicds ...although some of
them are very long...) in the last few years... so far the
best one i've heard is How to Slice a Loaf of Bread... which
is the first half of a six disc release... part 1 comes with
three discs... this really interesting, sort of cryptic
interview, a bunch of picture cards... all packaged in this
really nice dvd sized cardboard box... the three discs are
all single tracks... at times there are minimal drones... at
other times, very intricate ambient... but it is all pretty
fuckin' awesome... it's really interesting to catch the man
at this stage in his career... pretty sad, but so
beautiful...

would say musically-- but it is really so much more.

this is all.

nah there's a fair amount... some of the new stuff is sort
of tough to get though... the slsk search function is just
really terrible right now...

that must be it, because "hafler trio" has only turned up 16
matches in about 45 minutes.
