As it's too far to walk to turn of the light at the switch I
usually find it easier to unscrew the bulb from the fitting,
though an oven glove is recommended.

I normally throw some kind of heavy object and break the
lamp.

it may seem costly, but it's lovely really.

were at someone's birthday party and when you rolled a six
you put on some oven gloves and had to eat some chocolate
with a kinfe and fork?

No, but I remember a girl showing me her fanny at that age.
I am not sure if I'd won a roll of the dice or was just in
the right place at the right time. I'll be sure to try the
cake thing though.

in america, "fanny" means "ass" and a "fanny pack" is a
little bag you wear on your hips and not a gang bang.
