it's one thing to say: X, Y, and Z are musicians who loosely fall under the category/style of music we call A2, for purposes of casual conversation/discussion... but it's an entirely different thing when sites invent their own genres for music i don't believe even exists. that's stupid. unless there really is some god-awful music genre called, "Emo-tronica", in which case, i stand corrected and hope i never have the misfortune of hearing any of it. |

i'm not saying that rule is always true and i'm not saying that you can't make up an idea and build music around it, that's all fine - i'm just saying, look at that list... it looks totally ridiculous and nonsensical... my question is whether these sub-genres are real and actual musicians make this sort of music, or whether somebody over at iloveidm.com sat around making up fantastical music genres. i don't know - they could be real for all i know. either way, i don't care because i don't want to listen to any music that uses "emo" as a prefix. i have no point. |
