mensa-tronica is for people who are above IDM (IQ *must* be
greater than 140)

it's one thing to say: X, Y, and Z are musicians who
loosely fall under the category/style of music we call A2,
for purposes of casual conversation/discussion...

but it's an entirely different thing when sites invent their
own genres for music i don't believe even exists. that's
stupid.

unless there really is some god-awful music genre called,
"Emo-tronica", in which case, i stand corrected and hope i
never have the misfortune of hearing any of it.

so you don't like any rephlex releases then? cos they sure
invented the term braindance.

i'm not saying that rule is always true and i'm not saying
that you can't make up an idea and build music around it,
that's all fine - i'm just saying, look at that list... it
looks totally ridiculous and nonsensical... my question is
whether these sub-genres are real and actual musicians make
this sort of music, or whether somebody over at iloveidm.com
sat around making up fantastical music genres.

i don't know - they could be real for all i know. either
way, i don't care because i don't want to listen to any
music that uses "emo" as a prefix.

i have no point.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=emotronica

hopefully no one understands or cares about what i just
said. here is a quote from an emotronica album review that
can be found by clicking the link iloveidm has provided:
"Is there such a thing as emotronica? Fortunately not, and
thank goodness for that, since the Inflatablemen easily
transcend silly tags to deliver a ten-track debut of
driving, emotive electronic pop with as many guitar hooks as
there are sequencer bridges."

lol - wtf is this all about?

here's another quote from a different site: "A new term was
born for this release, and that term was ' Emotronica ', a
word which has caused a bit of a stir with some Struktur
fans, it even turned one die hard fan to insist he wouldnt
purchase any more of their music if the word continued to be
used, hehe."

some label's quote: ""A.N.R." is a sampler that aims to
show what is the meaning of our label's music, that said in
one word is "EMOTRONICA", and throughout the 14 tracks,
crossing different and unexpected genres and styles, you'll
be able to understand why it's EMO and why it's TRONICA."

what i can surmise from this information is that emotronica
does exist, and it's debateable what it actually sounds
like. i'll never know, though, because i'm done wasting my
time with this.

"All Music Guide Twoism features the same exquisitely
spooky, textured emotronica
that fans will want to hear, all at as high a level as the
brilliant Music Has ... "
