first of all, . the videos are especially lovely. second, the israeli security service has successfully foiled as many as thirty suicide bombings in a single week. the number of casualties the palestinians are consistently aiming at is much, much higher than what they actually accomplish. the suicide bombings that actually do occur constitute a small fraction of ones attempted. combine that with the excellent medical service and emergency response service israel has developed as a response to palestinian terrorism, and you get a very different picture. you might also ask yourself why the gaza hamas has continued killing israeli civilians (a mother and her four infant children is one particular incident that comes to mind) while the israeli prime minister was trying to approve a plan to pull out of gaza and end the occupation there. then you might answer that the hamas is not interested in an israeli pull-out, because it would deligitimize their struggle to "drive all jews to the sea" (as their charter wonderfully puts it) from palestine and israel. i'm not for the occupation (and, in the case of gaza, so are over 70% of the israeli public, according to recent polls), but if there's one thing i'm really against it's college-students-cum-armchair-politicians with an understanding of the conflict that stems from a bunch of stoned discussions in their dorm room underneath a che guevera flag. just drop the topic. accept art as some saving grace in an otherwise filthy humanity and keep it away from here. |

i agree 100%. in fact, if you look actual definition of terrorism, it is: "violence or intimidation committed by a group for political purposes." sounds like iraq to me. |

i dont hate jews. i dont hate any 'race'. or anything like that...jsut to get that out of the way. i DO hate governments that kill lots and lots of people. and justify it. as an american, ive grown to know such kinds of governments. because we are the most guilty. yeah, you can say what you want about policies, and college students (im not in college), and i will keep saying this: "Total number of Palestinian deaths & injuries in West Bank & Gaza since Sept 29th, 2000 is 2,986 deaths, 26,223 injuries. (Figures inclusive to May. 21, 2004)." -red crescent "Between September 29, 2000 and May 1, 2004, Magen David Adom treated a total of 6,314 casualties as follows: 847 killed, 549 severely injured, 784 moderately and 4,134 lightly injured, among them 11 MDA staff members.' -israeli ministry of foreign affairs. you say youre against the occupation. i would hope that part of the reaon is b/c of the massive amount of people israel is killing. its certainly why im against the occupation of iraq by the us. b/c those numbers are like 800 (us) to somewhere near 10,000 (iraq). |

well, israel doesnt use 'bombs', they use missles that they drop from helicopters, and most recently in the last week, f16s. israel has nuclear weapons, fighter jets, and laser guided missles. and in the last four years have killed more foreign civilians in the middle east than any other mideast state. (i would say more than any other country, but america holds that distinction) yet, the american policy geared towards WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION and TERRORISM (see previous definition) IN THE MIDDLE EAST seems to skip over israels conduct. only now has the US obstained form a vote (that they previously vetoed EVERY FUCKING TIME) by the UN condemming israels conduct. |
