my new job as a bucket drummer

i quit high school to take on CGI/perl programming
contracts, and went on to build many websites as a developer
for a few years. then i got a job at kinko's, and worked as
a slave for a year. I quit that job when I started selling
drugs. I sold drugs off and on for two years, and after a
serious addiction to blow I was done.

I needed a new job, as I was homeless in los angeles and
wasn't really getting anywhere fast. I met some people who
drummed on buckets, and thought, damn, thats a good job.

I went home for a few weeks to my small town, where I got
some buckets, took them downtown, and started beating on
them. I made 150 bucks in a weekend for pounding on buckets
for dancing children, hot girls, drunk dudes who wanted to
"freestyle", and the general populous. I turned around and
headed right back to LA. I'm stopped in the bay area, and I
just went out to a relatively unpopular street in berkeley,
pulled out my buckets, and made 10 bucks in an hour.

In my new job, I simply build my wrist and forearm strength,
and play the buckets improvisationally for anyone who wants
to listen. IT IS BADASS.

The people who pay my tax free salary- people walking by,
are paying me because they like my bucket-noise. Even when
they aren't PAYING me, they're telling me "You are so good
at that!" "Thanks!" "Great job!", just like my old boss at
kinko's, except they mean it instead of just stroking my ego
to get faster more efficient work for the same pay rate.

I play bucket breakbeats, and break my sticks and buckets.

BUCKET BREAKS

In a world where it's been really rough for a variety of
reasons, this new well-paying job where i just play music
all day, is a lucky break.

message was for illfates.

I saw one guy once doing exactly the same. Beats were
awesome. I even wanted to record it and insert real drums
instead of a bucket sound.

illfates do you have any recording (no matter how shitty it
is) of your bucket drumming ?

Some people do not understand the wicked patterns I heard.
It was like someone doing better beats then RDJ's machines.
I could not believe that it was comming from a bucket. I
wish I could meet the same guy this summer and record him
with a dat. It was beyond the normal human comprehension of
music. It made sense and it was comming from a FREAKING
BUCKET!

i believe it - i've heard many bucket drummers. they range
from mediocre to mindblowing.
