That's what I love about herr. If she was sat in cafe
tucking into a full-English opposite you... you wouldn't
think twice about it.

Dutch tv made a documentary about the Breeders about 2 years
ago, and visited the sisters Deal at their house.

it was incredible.

in one shot Kim would look great, a few seconds later she
would look old and horrible!

she's a two-face..

(they were great in the video - really nice, funny people!)

mm.

for a beginner, you could start with their debut "pod" or
the follow-up "last splash".

"pod" is nice, but sparse. "last splash" is poppier, it was
their hit-album.

the last album is great too - "title TK" - it has a harder
edge, is more rock.

great solo artists:
Björk
PJ Harvey
Martina Topley-Bird
Ikue Mori

great all-female bands:
Mephista
OOIOO
eX-Girl

these are my favourites at least...

i've also heard of Hiromi, who'd be a jazz player but i
don't know her well enough to say anything, i still need to
check her stuff out : )

and Yuka Honda and Cibo Matto, too, what i've heard of them
sounds great, i'll be trying to find an album! (also of
Butter 08, a collaboration between Cibo Matto and some other
people but its hard to find, out of print and probably
easily findable on soulseek but not so much on opennap)

there are also lots of great bands with a female singer,
Sonic Youth (Kim Gordon), Melt-Banana (Yasuko O.),
Portishead (Beth Gibbons), Morcheeba (Skye Edwards), Cocteau
Twins (Elizabeth Frazer)... Yoshimi P-We of Boredoms (she's
the drummer), OOIOO, Free Kitten, she has also collaborated
with Yuka Honda...

there is an entire sub-category, called "oracles", dedicated
to female artists on the label Tzadik of John Zorn also.

or if it got deleted...
