Oh, and did i mention that Richard D James was at the bar?
Then he came onto the dance floor and danced next to us? Hes
a crap dancer.

I really wanted to! But my mates all pulled out because of
exams or some shit. This was at Stealth right? What's it
like there?

Stealth is pretty cool. Its 3 floors i think (i found 2).
Everyone started leaving an hour into Mu-Ziqs set to go
upstairs to the dancey bit. EVERYONE was pilled up to their
eyeballs upstairs, i was laughing so much. You could turn
the music off and they'd still be dancing. There ended up
being about 12 people on the dance floor for Mu's show, and
they were the obvious pillheads who couldnt move away and
forgot what they were listening to people. His set was
awesome. Luke Vibert played a fire alarm for like, 20
seconds during his set and everyone started panicking.
Funny. RDJ was in the crowd. I went with my mate tom and mr
acrid milk hall

That sounds cool, one of my friends always goes on about
stealth so I'll end up there soon enough.

god damnnit yes it WAS a good night mr.aphextriplet.
nice to have yourself & tommy boy up for a bit of a shuffle
round stealth's squeaky clean new dancefloor.

mu-ziq's set was fat. lots of amen breaks at the start..
pity so many people left.
i think i rated viberts set higher than you did - if i read
your reactions correctly. i thought it was properly funky
stuff. nice to ease people in with a bit of acid-disco at
the start. nice to hear a couple of grime & raggacore tracks
make an appearance.. and that (heavily fucked with) segue
into squarepushers 'my red hot car' was hilarious.

by the way, i had a word with mark & next time he chats to
al from the moog he's going to enquire about richard's
little cameo.

top night.

still buzzing about it all today.

went into town on my lunch break to pick up the new grime
comp on rephlex.. but apparently the cd version isn't out
til june7th; something the rephlex site did not make
explicit. pity, as saturday night's brief burst of twostep
sounds really whet my appetite.

mr.triplet : we'll have to hook up & do something similar
again sometime.. here, there or elsewhere.

inabit. k

of custard

shit that reminds me. Im totally torn for next sunday. Kate
is going to see Graham Coxon at rock city, but Mr Scruff is
playing at the custard factory. She has a spare ticket for
me to see Coxon, but i also want to see Scruff. Methinks i
may have to watch Coxon, then belt it down the M42 and catch
Mr Scruff, whos set stretches a mighty 6 hours. Taxing
times.

a conundrum indeed.
it would be foolish of you to turn down a free ticket to a
gig..
as for scruff.. he always seems to play all night long for
some reason. egomania perhaps? or maybe it's because he
tends to work his way through such a sprawling, unrelated
mishmash of genres that it would just sound clumsy if he
could only play for a couple of hours.
i've seen him a few times, and it's usually good fun. he did
the opening night at stealth the other week actually.. but i
didnt go down for that. the only thing i'd say if youre
tight on time/money is that mr scruff's appearances are
hardly rare.
