The begining of Spiral is great! Squelchy acidic
loop - I wonder what synth did he use.

He's great, but I only like his early 80's work. Blade
Runner, Antarctica, etc... There's something timeless in
his synths.

1492 had its moments, too.

yes, I do like him... I own Bladerunner and Chariots of
Fire... Chariots of Fire is kind of weak (the main theme
rocks though) but Bladerunner rules!

No. Haven't listened to him much, but didn't like what I've
heard. Maybe I need to check it out again...

The synth making that squelchy tone is a Yamaha CS-80.
Arturia has a VSTi that's said to be pretty
faithful.

The thing with Vangelis is, a lot of his stuff, especially
the stuff before Blade Runner, is kinda hit and miss. I can
appreciate most of the tracks on my Best of Vangelis CD but
I have to trick myself into a cheesy mood to do it.
