between people who listen to music and those who don't? did you ever notice and differences?
i think people who listen to music (i notice this at gigs i visit) are more open minded...not sure why...
anyone knows of any surveys about this?
btw, i couldn't imagine my life without music...but is music overrated? what is it about the music that makes it so important? it's art, and it is probably the most popular art...any idea why??

I think music is a topic that anyone can talk about with anyone else because music exists everywhere.
Everyone has heard some type of music!
Now, of course there are a ton of people that don't know anythign about it, but at least you can tell them about what you like and why they should too.
Music is the most popular art form because girls like to shake their booties to it.

I have noticed that people who don't listen to music are less interesting, less inspiring, boring even.
Music is the food of life and life needs music to flow. I listen to music atleast 3 hours a day and without this routine then I would find life boring. If we were not brought up with music then would we still be so into it? It would be cool to know if this makes a difference.

I don't know anyone who doesn't like at least some music... I never want to meet someone as soulless as to not like any music EVER.

"i think people who listen to music (i notice this at gigs i

I don't know- I know a few people who are into one genre almost exculsively who are pretty close-minded. I think it's probably because IDM has such a wide sound (which is why no one can define it) and that most IDM fans have a fairly broad taste in music (even if they only like a small fraction of music, they like lots of different styles). So, the people you see at gigs are probably into lots of other sorts of music too and hence open minded.
I'm sure if you went to a nightclub that played nothing but pop music, even though the people there liked the music (but nothing else) you'd find some less open minded people.
Razorblade: Without music, life would be a cruel joke. (spot who I'm paraphrasing for a slap on the back)

i was thinking open minded in general, not just towards music...easier to comunicate with, no pretentious people... :)

Can we categorize personalities based on music tastes?
IDM = Clever, funny, witty? Pop = Dappy, silly, fun loving? Rock = Emotional, layed back?
This is interesting as we do usually go towards our tastes depending on what kind of person we are. Or do we?
