Well, most of the ways of making it better make it use the internet as a medium, and the whole fun of it is the antiquated use of post.. I liked your suggestion that each recipient copies it; digital copies excellent too so that it can be posted here as it gets around. Well I can think of one good way to improve it--have more than one going around, but all based on the same. So you make, say, three, send them out. Then each recipient makes as many duplicates of it as they want, and send them out. So basically you can make different text when you send it out to different people, but all the previous crap is recorded just as it was. the reason multiple ones is nice is that: 1) if one gets lost, you aren't ruining the whole system 2) enough will be floating around to make a constant thread with lots of bullshit going on 3) more elbow room for creativity here's a big disadvantage: ()having more makes it less special, and also more prone to being a victim of rampant laziness.. |

Sorry, I meant scan it or take a digital picture of it before sending.. imagine, the "JAroen's l33t id43" thread would get a new picture attachment every few days or so with all sorts of weird shit on the paper. Another problem is paper runs out of space easily, unlike digital medium .. oh well. |

well, how about we have a thread about it, and people who want to receive can ask to get it, and also people having it can bug other people to provide their address (for instance pomme will probably end up having lke 1000 at any given moment). That should give a nice organic balance between who you want to send to and who wants to receive, letting lots of people have a chance at both.. not as organized as going through the list, but going through the list will get it to people who will be to lazy to send it onward.. if it all works out, over 50% of all letters circling the planet will eventually be part of this. |
