I'm going to gorge myself on all these videos and stuff when
I get home. I hated Wind Waker, partly because of the
graphics, so this may win me over.

i thought the graphics were nicely refreshing, even though
they were a bit kiddie.

it was the pace that turned me off. it really seemed to
drag out. i mean, i'm all about some problem solving, but
there'd be huge gaps of time where you were kinda aimlessly
searching for the next thing to do.

..at least that's the way it seemed.

wwII looks quite a bit more exciting. i hope it's as large
as a zelda game should be.

Wind Waker 2 is also supposed to be cel-shaded... but that
doesn't look cel-shaded at all (although it does look
impressive)...

Yeah definitely, I just got pissed off with so much
wandering around. I like cel-shaded stuff and some effects
were nice, but it just didn't keep me interested. That's two
naff Zelda games in a row for me now (including Majora's) so
if this one sucks I'm off the series forever. I was gutted
when that Link/Ganon demo from a few years ago was dumped in
favour of WW so this is a happy ending.

hobbits or something in it.

I'll be buying myself a game

This is Legend of Zelda.

Wind Waker II is a seperate project altogether

Welcome to last night, loser.

By the way, the GBA has a new Zelda on the way as well...
The Minish Cap.

There's very little information about it right now, though.

It seems this Zelda is actually built on the same engine as
Wind Waker. Haha. I remember a couple of months ago there
was an interview where someone said it would be: "basically
the same engine with some small modifications." LOL!

I don't really like this new look. It looks just like any
other next-gen game to me. I miss the cuteness still present
in Wind Waker and older Zelda's. Link is way too old and too
lifelike... imo. The atmosphere and just the feeling of Wind
Waker will probably never be beaten... not for me anyway. I
realise the new graphic style is exactly what lots of people
have been waiting for.

But still that trailer gave me goosebumps :-) It is still
Zelda after all. The music was amesome, and the fighting
looked totally incredible. It'll be good to have Epona back
too.
I can't wait to play it! I'm gonna try to not look at too
much screenshots before the release this time... by the time
TWW came out I had already seen pictures of almost all the
locations.

Minish Cap movie.

-Amazing Graphics! Probably the best looking 2D-zelda so
far.

-It looks like Link can shrink and grow bigger again at
will. I bet that's his "special power" this time. Instead of
controlling the wind, the seasons or the flow of time.

-He has some sort of a sucking/blowing device. In one
sequence he uses it as a vacuumcleaner against a
boss-character. But in another scene he uses it as an
"engine" whilst standing on a leaf.

-In another scene Link splits up into four versions of
himself... and all four of them together push a huge rock.
Hm... another four sword-adventure? I'm kinda hoping it will
be aimed mostly at lonely singleplayers ;-)

I also hope this is a Nintendo-developped game again... not
capcom. There was nothing really wrong with the Zelda Oracle
games... nothing that I can quite put my finger on anyway...
but they somehow didn't have the "nintendo magic".

Adult Link again, aaah thank fuck. Anyway, found a poster
perhaps inspired by the series:

That movie looks delicious! And I love the music, I
recognize some hooks from Ocarina of Time.

It used to be that Nintendo would make us wait years between
Megaton games. We waited 7 for Super Metroid, another 8 for
Metroid Prime, and now they're just throwing Metroids at us
left and right. Same with Zelda. I'm not sure how I feel
about this. It feels nowhere near as special, I was
delerious when Super Metroid hit. The positives outweight
the negatives, though.

I'm pretty amazed that the new zelda is running on the cube.
The graphics look nothing short of amazing. The worst part
however is the waiting the time between now and when we
actually get it in our hands. I'm predicting 12+months for
us PAL gamers :(
The Minish Cap looks awesome too. It's great to see more
SNES flavoured zelda action on the way.
Metroid2 on cube? well it certainly looks like the first
with a couple of tweaks thrown in like some new weapons and
multiplayer, but nothing that really made my jaw drop. (like
zelda!)

Exactly how I felt about the FF franchise. I would welcome
a long hiatus...so when the next one was to be finally
released...it would be that more exciting. Though, with
today's technology, companies are able to make games a lot
faster then they were 10+ years ago.

ive altogether stoped caring about the new rpgs coming out
(as awesome as they may be)
i just dont think that i have time for all this now that im
18 and need to shape up, i had a great time with square back
in the snes saga and the ps era and thats good enough for
me.

besides, come on... EVERQUEST 2! that will eat up any time i
would have to play other games.

Yeah, I'm the same as you are. I don't find myself playing
games nearly as much as I use to, but I still love keeping
up on them just as much as before. I know for a fact that
I'll play Xenosaga 2 when that's released. I dunno, now
that it's summer I'm going to go back and play through a lot
of games I haven't touched. I'm not going to give up with
the new games....I may not have as much time or might not be
as enthused as I was when I was younger (partly because
games came out so much slower), but I'm going to keep
playing games until I grow old.

As for EQ2...yeah it'll eat up a lot of my time too, granted
that I enjoy it. I just hope I'm choosing the best MMORPG
with EQ2.

oh for sure, eq2 will be the best.

as for xenosaga 2.. mmmmm i dont know.
i loved xenogears, seriously i was obsessed i had a shrine
in my room with various articles and xenogear toys i bought
online.
but xenosaga didnt do much for me, albedo or whoever was the
gheyest antagonist ever, predictable and stupid. completely
unlike Krelian (~my hero~) :p lol

Well....that was only the beginning. They're retelling the
whole story over from scratch. It's only going to get
better.

but did xenogears really need a backstory? i was happy with
the way it was.
oh well, it probobly will be amazing, the ending of xenosaga
where it showed blips of lacan and cain and abel blew my
mind.

I'm looking forward to Xenosaga 2. Seems they changed the
graphical style quite a bit, though. I don't know if I like
it, or if it's just plain inconsistent... but time will
tell.

I'm more into games than ever, now. They're better than
ever, and I have enough money to buy every game I want,
unlike my younger years. This is probably MY golden age.

I still buy some games but I don't play them nearly as much
as I used to. I've only gone through Wind Waker once - in
fact, I only beat the game once and I forgot to save before
the big end battle and I never felt like going through the
castle again. I haven't beaten Metroid Prime yet. I've only
made it to the final battle. I picked up Tony Hawk 4 a while
ago and I'm only half way through.
-_-

It's sad. I just don't have the desire to sit through games
like I used to. I love getting new games, but I can't seem
to finish them so much anymore.

on the other hand, I go through Super Metroid once or twice
a year. What an incredible game. It's challenging, but not
so much that I get frustrated and quit and it was done so
goddamn well that it feels like a new game each time I play
it.
