i hear he's quite good, but can't speak for him personally... he does a lot of work with the Rune Gramofon label which is a really cool label...

Melve was a decent album... Hip hop beats with this odd sounding strange nostalgic melodies. Sometimes a bit dancy. Seems very 'folk-like'...

ive recently been getting into supersilent, tape, and skyphone. i think scandanavia brings a certain meloncholy brand of pop and/or electronic music that i dont think can be found anywhere else. from bjork and sigur ros to abba and the cardigans, its such simple sad innocent sorta noises. a specific pop sensibility that even esists outside of 'pop'. i guess its hard to explain. especially interesting considering its a lot of vikings ;) but if anyone has any other scandanvian suggestiongs toss them my way...

I have one track by him on a Wire Tapper CD and he did a brilliant remix of a Jaga Jazzist tune on their Animal Chin EP.

Kim Hiortøy is a Norwegian multi-artist releasing his music on Smalltown Supersound. He makes naive, melodic music with lots of analogue "effects" and is kinda easy to recognize, when you've heard a couple of tracks. Until now he has released only one "real" album called Hei. His second album, "Melke" contained mostly b-sides, rarities and remixes (check out remixes of Jaga Jazzist and Merzbow). This year he is releasing no less than three mini-albums called "Hopeness" (good, sounds like his earlier stuff), "For the ladies" (ambient, heard bad rumours about this one) and "Live Shet" (which beter be good).

Oh. And if you use the search function, you will find links to some of his picture-art, which is no less than brilliant.
