this new sigur rós video is playing on my tv (1st track on
()). it's way too depressing, even though it's quite
beautiful i don't like listening to it.

what songs are too depressing for your liking?

that one song where those animals fall off a building in the
video.

I hate the song. it is boring and dull like a flat-chested
girl on steroids. together with the video it makes a sad
kind of sense, but then it IS only crap.

Pearl Jam - Black (well, a lot of "10" actually),
Sleeper - The It Girl
Ocean Colour Scene - One from the Modern

The last two more for personal reasons (ie, what I associate
with them, rather) than the actual content of the songs,
although OCS - The Waves is hardly the happiest track in the
world.

I tend not to listen to depressing music, even if I'm sad
myself, so I don't listen to any of these tracks very often.

The only music that depresses me is music I find to be crap,
derivative, moribund of ideas.

Even extremely sad music does not depress me. I lap up the
sweet sweet melancholy.

Current 93 always does a number on me for various reasons.
And a lot of old RPG music has some super sad hooks, and is
sadly nostalgic to boot.

time. Which is why I love it.

there's not such thing as too depressing...if you'd ask
anyone that knows me, they'd all tell you that all i listen
to, is depressing music.

i once put on the strokes and everyone was like, finally
some "happy music"...although it's far from the happiest
music, but since they had to listen to my other stuff for
couple of days, they found them very uplifting :)
i bet even vincent gallo would sound uplifting.

Masashi Hamauzu (Final Fantasy X) - Wandering Flame

PERFECT SAD TUNE. It seems depressing, but I can't help
listening to it over and over. Definitely a song to play
when thinking. Check it out, I'm sharing on slsk if anyone
cares to grab it.

I can't listen to low too often. I love their stuff but
there's a lot of highly intense "relationship" moments
soundtracked by them that make me want to cry like a sad
little bitch.

Sol Invictus gets me down, so down. So low down. And Tim
Buckley for some reason, even though of his stuff is pretty
goofy and upbeat. I guess listening to dead people just
makes me sad. And it's almost like he died twice.

And I agree about Wandering Flame! Great choice,
heartbreaking track.

*snif*

I still haven't come to terms with his "suicide". His
melancholic and beautiful music gets me down like no other
can.
