I just bleeped the RDJ album. Goddamn thing remembers my
credit card in the acct settings. few clicks and I'm done.
Maybe some old squarepusher next, big loada or feed me weird

You need to realize the impermanence of things - the
transient, evanescent fleeting nature of life, consciousness
and art.

CD_ROT

It's probably better to have your music on a hard drive and
copy it from one computer to another as you upgrade.

yeah but that also depends on the quality of the pressing.
but of course, it's a physical media so it will 'die'
eventually.
But til then, lots of fun.

LAZY_BLEEP

One of the few places offering legal paid MP3 downloads in
high quality VBR format, unencumbered by copy protection.
Others are eMusic and Magnatune.

Unfortunately when you buy a CD there's no label indicating
the quality of the pressing - unless you're buying one of
those sucker disks with the gold foil. Aren't they like at
least twice the price?

until then, ill just buy a real copy

So I'm giving this album the first real listen ever - other
than snippets - and thinking, heh, so this is where you
derivative clowns get all your ideas.

yeah I buy regular pressings I assume.
None of my CDs have gone bad yet...
But I thinkt the quality of the pressings may have improved
since the 80s (cause I remember hearing about this years
ago, and it only had to do with certain pressing in the
80s).
I'd love to buy more vinyl, but hey, no decks =/

That's what keeps me from buying vinyl. I have a shitty old
Technics turntable. I really should invest in a DJ quality
deck.

something which doesn't have a material existence.

I've paid for some stuff off Bleep purely because I get
pissed off not being able to download decent versions
elsewhere.

someone told me (dunno if this is true) that they got a
message asking them not to share vbr rips of warp stuff, but
sharing crap rips was ok.

yeah.
I know artists shared crap rips (in e.g. realaudioformat) of
their full-length tracks before mp3s got big.
That's a good way to get to know music.

There are many intangible things that only money can buy -
