You can't call it 'work'. You can only call it a string of characters until someone tells you that it is a 'work'. I would join but, as you have probably gleaned from out previous exchanges, my language skills are far from perfect.

Sure... if I ever get around to writing anything. Maybe we could give each other an idea for a short story, but adhering it to each other's desired genres/forms.

I used to write, largely philosophical stuff, re-reading it now, it's very similar to Nietzsche (allbeit less eloquent), but at the time I wrote it, I hadn't read any of his work.
I really dislike sharing my writing, unlike my music, I find writing a lot more personal, it's almost like letting someone read your diary. A couple of literary friends read it a 4 years or so back and both said it was good and liked it.

yeah i would probably be interested, I write fiction short stories, short film scripts and poetry etc. I recently took up a creative writing elective subject at uni and totally blown away by good responses, so ive really got into it recently.
But i also find it quite personal, and hard to put out for people to read. But it sounds like fun eh. At uni we workshop our current works and stuff, and people give comments and suggestions and everything and its really quite good.

Right now I'm really in limbo in regards to writing, I want to knock some short stories out and then head straight into a novel. But my ideas for short stories aren't really interesting me, plus they come from an original thought but the natural progression of the idea leads into done to death territory. I'm also torn between styles as I'd like to do a first person present tense character study as well as the more conventional third person past tense stories. So in conclusion... I better do some work.

Every time I write a story I have the opposite problem, shit strays off into weird territory..Like I wrote this story once about a mafia family. The godfather was assasinated and the only thing with enough knowledge to continue running the family was his pet parrot who lived in his office. The parrot became the head of a major crime syndicate for 4 years before being horribly gunned down :(

I am trying to write one of those Mills&Boon romance type novels. Here's as far as I have got....
"Ahhh, my penis!" cried Thosos, gurning manically at his reflection in the medicene cabinet mirror. In the bedroom Janus flapped annoyed and annoyingly. Crappo rose from the floor and padded scratchily to the kitchen, pausing only to spray Thosos' discarded, filthy kimono.
After going blue in the face, Thosos spun round and fell heavily to the floor. When I returned 5 minutes later to see if he'd recovered I found him unconcious and in a state of advanced befoulment. I carried him then, beshitten, back to the Manor House. The Duc de I_____d was playing The Cardigans very loudly in the master bedroom as I tried to summon a maid to assist me with the reeking cadaver. Yet my bellowings went unnotice, or, as likely, ignored.
My balls felt heavy and yearned to splash a maid's face a-fully. I dropped the heavily soiled chief of police onto one of the servant's beds and took the stairs into the unlit bowels of the kitchen area. My snake twitched and I knew immediately that it's preternatural ability to sniff out hot wench had once again been unconciously employed. I made my way towards the washing area from where came a faint glow of candlelight. I loosened my belt in readiness and gave the old chap a manual once over.
"Sir Janus," gasped the maid "whatever are you doing down here at this hour? You gave me quite a start! " I noticed her hand reflexivley unfastening the top button of her service blouse....

maybe I'd like to join.
kind of depends how much time it would take.
also bear in mind that I'm studying to become a professional writer, so I've been smothered with years of feedback-giving crap by now! :D
this kind of means I can get pretty harsh when trying to give feedback. it's not meant to be mean, just to be honest - it saves time.
I'm not sure people would want that.

hmm. i could try and come up with some stuff again. i, too, took one of those creative writing workshopping classes a while back, and it was good fun. i don't feel like anything i wrote for that class was all that great, but. eh. it was a good experience, i s'pose. but mostly i'd just be interested in reading your guys' stuff and giving some feedback. i'm always up for that.

Hey, YOUR thread man, not mine. :D
.. maybe we all write something at least partly connected, a centralised theme so that it makes it more interesting. And definitely keep them short.
