ace album!!!
very diversed stuff, a bit confusing at moments, great
ideas...
many excellent tunes, couple of weak ones too, but the good
ones are so great it's worth getting for sure!

bommkat review and samples

well, it's obvious you don't know anything about music.

some more samples

for real tho, it might seem a bit confusing at first, but
the full tracks are excellent! very abstract...and it's
obviously clasified as techno :)

yes, techno.

AWFUL!! :D

it isn't techno...not all 4/4 rhythm is techno...i
think...but even if it is techno, it's excellent!

some tracks are pretty mental...repetitive beats and
excellent noise on top of it...check "love song" for that :)

i was kidding...the music is shit...bit i like the title,

you will love this one! some tracks remind me of stoke...the
great thing is, that it is so diversed album, lots of
improvisation...

damn...i've heard a lot of hreat albums lately, but this is
something else! im loving it more with each listen, and the
sounds and production...ohh, wonderful stuff!

bump.it's really good :)

"love song" is as intense as squarepusher's "steinbolt"...it
doesn't sound quite like it, and it's more repetitive, but
beeing repetitive makes it sound even more intense!

recommended for people that like hecker? sounds interesting
... as in 'sun pandämonium' or other releases?

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2004-05-05 02:54 [#01173775]
Points: 50073 Status: Moderator

sun pandamonium, but it isn't quite that annoying :)

there are more beats on this one tho, and it's way more
rhythmic...even straight rhythms - probably what makes it so
good...

I don't have anything against techno or whatever, but this
does sound awful.

heh, i just checked those boomkat samples again, and i can
kind of see why would you think it's awful...why the hell
did they pick those samples???

tho that ikaria gives you pretty good idea of that track,
but not the whole album...

Have you seen/heard Brinkmann live tolstoyed? I've seen him
a few times and it's brilliant! All the music is in a 4/4
box but he manages to squeeze rawness, fun, and funk in..

exactly what this album sounds like...i haven't seen him
live yet, but i really want to. i was very impressed with
his previous records, but after i got this one yesterday, i
think even more of brinkmann...he's raw but funky at the
same time...weird combinations, but excellent effect!

i've been trying to grab it off slsk... but people only have
it in 320 sized files right now... which is too big (because
i download fuckloads, and i don't want to exceed my monthly
limit)

it's about time you get unlimited access :)
i can easily send it to you via mail...and some other stuff,
although i have no idea what since you have everything i
ever mention plus a milion. if you know of something else
that you'd like and think i have it i'd be glad to send it
to you...maybe some sugababes or something :)

i just rememberd you were interested in that basil kirchin
album, so that now makes it two...surely we'll think of
something else...

yeah, i would really love to start mailing around data
cds... i think at one point someone (elusive?) had an ftp
server up that xlt peeps were using... but that's long since
down... but i really would like to send (and receive) in
this manner... how much is postage to slovenia anyway?

btw, i did finally download the album, haven't had a chance
to listen yet... a promise to bump this thread (yet again
for the millionth time) when i do

to figure out what to send you, since you have pretty much
everything.
surely there must be something :)
