anyway.. never seen the film.. western is just about the only genre that I don't like.
on the other hand, I have hardly seen any westerns, so I should start watching a few, I guess.

yes, but two-disc uses a different combination of letters than double-dvd, sprout.
it would be kind of hard to say "two-disk? so thats 3 discs then?".

there are several great westerns.
the good the bad and the ugly is great, and the wild bunch is great. can't think of any others off the top of my head, but i know there are lots more i like.

the cowboy stereotype has gotten a pretty bad connotation in today's culture. but really, there's some really nice film work & character development in the genre if you're able to look past the fact that they are westerns.

Alex, I'm not really a fan of the Western, as a genre, but the Spaghetti Trilogy (or Man With No Name Trilogy) are excellent!

"The Good the Bad and the Ugly" is definitely in my top 5 films of all time. My dvd is only one disc (that's 1), so I'd like to know what you get on the new edition. The one I have has 14 minutes of some excellent deleted scenes, only in Italian though.
I am not keen on the whole western John Wayne genre, but I love the Sergio Leone trilogy of "The Good the bad..", "Fistfull of dollars" and "For a few dollars more", as well as his classic "Once upon a time in the west". The cinamatography in all of them is just fabulous, and the storylines and characters have an almost biblical vibe. Other westerns i like are "Django", "The Big Silence" (one of the few westerns set in the snow i can think of), "Johnny Guitar" and, of course "The Wild Bunch". Hey, westerns rule!

Unforgiven is a wonderful film, too. Deadwood on HBO is good, also. I didn't like westerns either. Until I went out west. Got bit by the bug I guess.

I just got it today too, i've probably got the same special edition as you. Is it th R2 one? I've only seen it in poor quality (downloaded) but its an excelent film! I watched it because it was a big influence on the Dark Tower books, even some scenes seem similar to some in the books.
