I like AE quite alot, but I'm not THAT much of a fanboy.
Just go to your washroom and take your blowdryer and record
it humming in different boxes, rooms, places and you have
your very own version of ae3o.

I don't think any less of AE from these tracks, mind you. I
can appreciate them experimenting. It's just not going to
get heavy (or any) rotation in my playlist.

*just downloaded them, listening to it right now...

so far it seems like static ambient stuff indeed. nothing
like the usual Autechre. i like it. (but isn't the release
looking a bit pretentious? i mean... yes, the case looks
really gorgeous from the photos i've seen, and i surely like
beautiful packagings - but still, it's expensive and why put
each track on one separate cd when they're only
16-minute-long or something...)

admittedly it is a bit pricey... most Hafler shit is very
well packaged and that does account for part of it ... but
also i think it has to do with the fact that Andrew
MacKenzie (who is the Hafler Trio) is dying of hepatitis,
and through some sort of bureaucratic red tape here and
there he has to pay for his own treatment and can't really
find much in the way of employment that he is still capable
of (in his condition)...
