i bought this album today. 'tis great. it has a certain dark and dreary horror movie-type feeling to it, but it is still unique and somewhat indescribable. i really like the feeling i get from the instrumentation and especially his voice.. it gives it all a sort of intense eeriness, yet light hearted, with an almost tongue-in-cheek feel mixed in with actual seriousness. it goes from one extreme of mellowness/spastic-ness to the other.
it.. reminds me of pink floyd, at times, for some reason.. probably, mainly because the bizarre atmosphere that seems to inexplicably emit from the disc. at one point it sounds like someone's fiddling with a keychain.
please give your thoughts on this album if you have some.

eep. i didn't know there was already a thread. i did a search and nothing turned up. ah well.. this one has the added "advantage" of the title's schmancy pronunciation signs.

that's cool - there was another thread a few days ago as well, but it also lacked the exact title.

on a semi-related note, does anyone know which language uses the letter v in lieu of u/i> in a manner similar to the text in the album booklet?

you've all got some good thoughts.
another weird thing is, a few days before buying this at random, after only hearing a few of their older tracks, i posted a track i made which is really, really fucking similar to the music on this disk. it's even got the same sort of congo/bongo type drum playing.. and a bunch of reverberated ambient-y, possibly surgical-type sounds. the similarity is a bit eerie., considering how infrequently i buy cds..it's strange that a song i had made before would resemble someone elses so closely.. i may have to abandon the song because it reminds me of it too much, even if i did make mine first.
damn.

he probably just wanted to make it annoying and inconvenient to find the place you wanted in the cd.

the whole cd is basically kool noises, nothing more
but when you pop one cd out at track 6 and you pop another cd in its nice to be able to go back to the first cd and hit play on track 6 again
now its like 70+ minutes, one track kool yet still annoying
thanks mike

I should mention that page 9 off the debut is being used in a Lynx deodorant advert over here.

the gruesome photos in this album's booklet add to the overal "surgical" effect, but they seem to, in a way, somewhat limit it to a "surgery concept album" ..
but it really has so much in it that doesn't fit into that meaning/feel/vibe.. but much of it really feels like being operated on.. or it's like you are blind and you are trying to make sense of the sounds ocurring around you.
but the string-pullers are trying to confuse you..
anyone know what the title means, btw? maybe.. insanity (or something) ________ ..
