So im now writing on my new apple powerbook, and it is
sexier than all the boys on this messageboard rolled into
one, and squished into a brad pitt making machine. Just
bought an audiophile soundcard which should arrive in the
post. I am in hog heaven

nah i avoided the 17", it was too big and expensive. Ideally
i'd have the 15" superdrive, but i have the 12" superdrive.
Its so gorgeous though. Mmmmm new toy. I hope it can
withstand all the musical abuse its going to get though.
haha.

You can't be "too big" when you are talking about
powerbooks. The 17'' is clearly king.

laptops should by definition fit on your lap.

17" is impractical for what i wanted. Your horse is making
me dizzy

unpractical for what you wanted? what did you want? I
thought you said you bought a soundcard, and therefore
assumed you were going to use it for music-creation and/or
playing live... either way, a bigger screen is better,
'cause you can have several windows of a project open
without loosing oversight (for instance in Reason, if you
want to un-dock the sequencer-window, you can keep it under
or next to the mixer/softhardware area...)

yeah i have a monitor too though. 17 inch is impractical for
me to take it to the places i want, and i couldnt afford the
additional 1000 dollaridoos

I agree. But with my 17" it is MY computer. I can travel,
sit at my desk, home work, office....everything. Agreed you
have to be careful but I would be with a 12" or 15" anyway.

Good choice on getting a uality machine.

OF course they are just about to release the slimmer version
of the 12".........perhaps this week.
