the sound that is mostly produced with them sounds clichéd
and boring.

Why are you getting rid of it?

got a novation ks and im only using the proph as a
controller so it seems pointless keeping it when i can sell
it to someone who might use it for more than i do when i can
buy a controller with the money

ive never figured out what exactly a ribbon controller
does..... how do you interact with it?

the sh-2 looks so cool... i love the old style of equipment
like that, and black makes anything look cooler..... these
days equipment looks too obviously plastic-y and friendly,
not technical enough........... i am a huge nerd

hahaha 50 quid they cost 1500 new and are worth about 300
now lol btw a ribbon countroller is a touchpad which alllows
u to controll mod or anything else :)

The Korg is not one of those starter synths btw. It's
monophonic and obviously monotimbral. As a 2nd sound source
it's pretty kick ass though.

ribbon controllers are made of basically the same
material/function the same way as a touchpad mouse on a
laptop. it's basically a strip instead of a square pad that
you drag your finger across from left to right, and most (at
least mine) can be assigned to a multitude of different
parameters.. so you could have it set up to slide pitch up
and down for a realistic slide effect (would be useless if
you had a pitch wheel, just an example here =P), or connect
it to an effect like chorus to manipulate how dry/wet the
signal is... basically it's just a different form of
modulation wheel.
