stone in focus

is this perhaps aphex's most perfect ambient piece? the
minor chords invoke in me the sorrow and nostalgia that
lichen does, but keeps it going over a much longer period,
while instead of becoming boring, it becomes more and more
intense.... the bouncing ping pong ball makes me think of
the passing of time and how perhaps i'm wasting my life at
the moment....

it's incredibly powerful stuff. makes me want to cry.

It is one of my all time fave Aphex tracks, I can leave it
on repeat for hours, days even....months. And as has been
said, for such a seemingly minimal track it never gets
boring. Typical Aphex behaviour not to put they best track
on the CD though.

dog_belch - what? [re that last comment about not putting
the best track on the cd]

My copy of SAWII had stone in focus, then again I bought it
used.

My favorite on SAW is most likely Blus Calx, Cliffs or
weatheredstone.

i thought stone in focus was only on the vinyl and all cd

wrong tho.

Weeeeeird.

It is a great song though.....think maybe they released it
on earler versions of the CD or something? Because my case
didnt look like everyone elses case, and it was scribbled
on. I like to think sometimes that Richard D James wiped his
butt with it once, and it slipped through his fingers to
ME!!

"Hankie" is left off of the US version of the CD, but I
didn't think "Stone in Focus" was on any CD, apart from some
compilation.

wouldn't be on the CD, if they do appear on the
tracklisting... what am i trying clumsily to say? I don't
know.
