I read the following in a review: The first fantomas album
is the opposite of Delirium Cordia. While D.C. is a huge
track consisting of about 200 small songs, their first has
many small tracks that compose one long song. Their second
one "Directors' cut" has covers of motion picture
soundtracks like the godfather or Rosmarie's baby. I believe
that "director's cut" is their best.

Add the split live album with the Melvins which is pretty
interesting.

The debut had no title. The one with Melvins was : "The
Fantomas-Melvins Big Band / Millennium Monsterworks 2000"

Correcto. Although the first one does have a title of sorts
- it's on the cover anyway - but generally it's referred to
as self titled and the CD spine simply says "Fantomas".

Melt Banana and End opened up, rather enjoyable.
The fantomas set pretty much spanned all the albums, lots o
stuff off directors cut. since most of the stuff on delerium
cordia is so oddly structured, Patton was playing conductor
to all the time changes(once every five minutes). They also
invited everyones who stayed for the 2nd encore to "Jim's
Steaks" across the street (BEST CHEESESTEAKS EVER, you can
smell the place a 1/2 mile down the street) to join them in
a "cheesesteak orgy"

I saw the Fantomas, Melt-Banana, End show in Chicago last
Sunday, it was amazing! I personally liked MxBx the best,
but the other two acts were damned good as well. Delirium
Cordia - I think it's a pretty cool record. I prefer the
first two but that might just be because I haven't listened
to Delirium as much. At the show, everyone seemed to enjoy
the stuff from the first two records that they played more,
maybe because it's more familiar, but more likely because
it's has much more energy. Anyway, it was a helluva show.

the melvins fantomas big band cd is not actually a split -
it's a live record with both bands playing songs all
together. they play songs by both bands. they've done it a
whole bunch of times - i saw them play as the big band once
or twice. really cool stuff.

Delìrium Còrdia is kickass! =)

i downloaded it first, not knowing the band at all and
bought the album right after. plus the packaging is really
beautiful.

haven't heard the other Fantômas albums nor Tomahawk, but
i've read a review saying the first Fantômas ressembled
Melt-Banana?!... - anyway i'm more and more interested in
everything Mike Patton...

i don't know of any fantomas/melt banana connection other
than that they have toured together, and at least once the
guitarist from melt banana played second guitar on a song
with them live. mr bungle (another mike patton band), on
the other hand, contributed to a track on the melt banana
album Charlie.

the three fantomas albums are completely different - it's
very hard to compare them to each other. they're all great
for different reasons.

I still can't get into this album. I love the other two but
this is complete crap. :(

yeah, i still really love this album as well. i'm looking
forward to their next release, which is supposed to have
material in the same vein as their first lp.
