Geogaddi Japanese Bonus Track

"From One Source All Things Depend" is the name of the
track.

I just listened to it for the first time. Its the last track
on the Japanese release of Geogaddi. I found it really
touching and emotional. I remember reading an interview
where they said Geogaddi was a "trial by fire", and was
thinking this track would have enhanced the album as a good
comedown after the voyage.

So what's with bonus material? Are they saying
britain get's the least,
u.s. get's eps,
and japan gets bonus tracks?

Not just rumours, it's pretty widely accepted that there
will be a new album out this year.

"A new album from Boards of Canada will be released in
2004." From Warp no less...

I think it's one of their best tracks. Japan always gets
bonus tracks because CD's cost so much there they don't want
people to bootleg or import.

this track has a very potent emotional content that i find
alot of electronic music doesnt have.

i appreciate autechre like crazy, but i'd never cry over one
of their tracks.

this brought a lump to my throat.

gorgeous and simplistic piece of art.

I can't imagine Geogaddi without it, it's a very
beautiful track and the perfect way to end the album. If I
ever I thought I felt the presence of God or a connection to
everyone and everything (which may very well be the same
thing), it was while listening to this song.

Actually I found the track sad when I thought of the
brainwashed children.

I was walking to work on Sunday, and there are tons of
churches around my area. I just saw all these people
draggin their kids into church for mass brainwashing.
Pretty sick. Poor kids.

hey if those kids are strongminded they'll make their own
choices when they grow up. i know plenty examples. and i
can't blame those parents for imposing their lifestyle on
their offspring. it's what we all do, in a way.

but yes, it's an ok track. nothing too special.

offline onecaseman from Chicago (United States) on 2004-04-14 18:50 [#01143246]

The kids aren't brainwashed in the song. The parents didn't
tell their kids that stuff, besides the prayers. It's what
they thought about God themselves.

The concept of God doesn't belong in a poor little kid's
mind naturally.

As an atheist, even I find the track quite moving. Go BOC.

I so desperately wanted to buy Geogaddi on vinyl today but I
couldn't justify the $40 price tag given that I have the cd
already :/

Yeah, even the CD is like $18.00. All the geogaddis I find
are overpriced!

honestly, I dont think the track is worth paying IMPORT
PRICES FOR....I find the track moving, but nothing special.
honestly, I think it might even sound better w/out the
children talking.

yeah those evangelists are annoying. they busted in our
student apartments last week and wouldn't leave before
everyone had received a flyer for their wickedly hip easter
party.

their aggressiveness works quite ineffective
