the more i listen to this, the more i can't think of
anything like it... it's the most insane manipulation of all
these different chime instruments into this sworling sonic
storm of reflective sounds... very evocative...
samples from erstwhile... the label head is a real stickl...

whoa, i just noticed that the end of what i said was cut
off... is there a limit to the amount of text you can put
into link titles?

anyways, the labelhead posts at this other messageboard i go
to... and he's always going on and on about the importance
of hearing stuff through a gound sound system, so i would
hope that the samples from the site are decent... check it
out or i will be forced to bump this thread several more
times and fully expose whatever "patheticness" i have not
shown already...

Well there's not enough density for my tastes. It's just too
much like background sound. May have been the samples, maybe
my lack of training on the whole genre or my crappy
speakers. I'll probably give it another chance.

if you use soulseek i could share you the mp3s... i'm
listening to the samples that they supply on the site, and
while they certainly aren't terrible, the music does suffer
some, a) because ram. files don't do anything justice,
particularly not something this sonically intense and b)
because the samples are somewhat out of context (this is
moreso true of the first one than the second one)...
on top of all this, it did take me at least a listen or two,
just to begin to figure out where the hell they were coming
from...

so yeah, if you want the mp3s i could share them on slsk or
something... i'm willing to work hard to sell this album to
at least one other person, simply because, on repeat
listens, i find it so bloody amazing...

-the one thing that i found most odd is that you said it
lacked density, when to me that is one of the greatest
things about the whole thing--just how dense of a sound
world it is...
now i'm not saying you are wrong, i'm just extra eager to
follow this up now...

okay, for real this time... apparently rotating my computer
90 degrees and mooving it one foot closer to the wireless
connection makes a huge difference?! i have it now, and i
want to give it to you!

are you on right now? i'm not sure if i have you added
properly to my downstairs computer... the upstairs is a
really odd mix of an ex-roomate who obsessed over pop and
60's garage rock... my experimental stuff, as well as some
hip hop... and well a whole bunch of other stuff... the
shared folders on the two computers pale in comparison to
the variety you can find on the two harddrives... this house
has an obscene amount of music lying around... i know that
there's a good 60 gigs of music on my computer... and
several cdrs worth of backed up music... then there's all
the burnt cds i have, and then all the real cds... and then
my vinyl, and my girlfriend's brother's massive collection
of cds and vinyl... and my god... it's too much
