The difficult Second thread

My first thread got burnt, before I had a chance to reply
to the nice people that said nice things. I don't think I
like it here so much anymore. I feel cold and alone.

Remember that the peeps who provide this board for our usage
don't like nonsense threads. They allow them to occur
within reason but if the topic is pointless then it will
probably be closed or deleted. That's just the way it goes.

I guess you're right. Though "nonsense thread" is a tad
harsh. I was just addressing the issue of wanting to join
in, to be part of the gang. Maybe it was too oblique. I
apologise.

It's just an idea but...you know say something at least
interesting or amusing and i mean that in the nicest
possible way. Ask people questions i don't know.

I don't think i have encountered you before...

Welcome dude!

: )

haha you seem to fit in quite nicely. Nonsense threads in
terms of xltronic can mean anything at all that isn't
electronic music orientated, it just depends how a moderator
sees it. It might not have had anything to do with you as
topics are often closed due to the posts of other members.
It's just the way it is.

A word of advice though...if you have one topic closed dont
start another one with nearly the same title, it pisses the
mods off. :P

I thank Ecnad and Skink for their sage advice. I promise not
to deliver a third thread simply entitled "third thread" nor
a fourth concept only-available-on-triple-disc set fourth
thread. Ok, here's my question. Humour in IDM. Is it there,
should it be there, are there humourous tracks in this vein
of musi?. I can only think of "Juicy Luke Vibert" from Tally
Ho, or most of Expert Knob Twiddlers.

There is quite a bit, i find venetian snares highly amusing!

There are tons of humourous tracks. I like tracks where it
seems as though the maker has had real fun doing it whether
they make it sound humourous or not. I think a lot of Aphex
tracks are light hearted and fun.

The intro to the "FFFfffrrreeeesssshhhh" album by DMX Krew
makes me laugh, "Donkey Rhubarb" makes me laugh with glee,
"Humanoid must not escape" tickles me, "Rewind" and "Drop
the midrange cut the bass" by Cyclob. Ermmm...

"I farted" by Freakwincy, that's a bit funny. I have that on
white label with a promo sheet. Apparently worth 0.00p
