The long wait is over at last. Eight years after their last complete work ( "The Process" released in 1996 ) Skinny Puppy have kept their promise, returning with "The Greater Wrong Of The Right" – a comeback that could hardly have turned out more consistent or more convincing. "The Greater Wrong Of The Right" is a breathtaking continuation of the path that the band had embarked on with "The Process". The experiments of the past few years have not been forgotten or faded out : in their condensed, highly energetic form they influence an album that impresses first and foremost with its energy, power and stringency. Although all the elements of the Skinny Puppy history have been integrated into these ten new tracks, their complexity and divergence develop little by little in typical Skinny Puppy style. Demanding up-tempo tracks like "I’mmortal" and "Pro-test" with its brilliant and mesmerising rap elements face spread-out, intricate little masterpieces like "Ghostman", which continue to put the band’s imitators in their place. Still, "The Greater Wrong Of The Right" is an album that fortunately lacks any kind of anachronism or supposed nostalgic flair : enlisting as it does the support of a new generation of musicians, like Tool’s Danny Carey ( acoustic drums on "Use Less" ) or Wayne Stati
