THIS is an electribe!
the new emx1 electribes are smokin'. tried it myself last weekend, some sweet 'dnb' and 'idm' presets. they're very expensive though. so i guess my first 'tribe purchase will be the EM1 module.
we wants it!

yaknow I had a choice between purchasing an electribe or an mc_303 back in the day. if I had chosen the former, then my username would have differed greatly. probably "electribe_beatz" or somesuch.

You know they have just released Mk2 versions of the ER1 and EA1? £200 each.
They look tempting, but I'm concerned about the valves. Undoubtedly good for studio work, but they're notoriously fragile for gigging (that's why touring DnB soundsystems tend to go for transistors over valves).

Yeah the EMX And ESX are pretty cool. Great for percussion but useless for melodic parts as the polyphony is so low, it takes a lot of effort to get a chord out of it.
The Mk2 Versions Of the old electribes are exactly the same as the old ones, but in a nicer case, no new noises, which is dissapointing.
You are right about gigging with valves Ceri, I use an old marshal bass amp at my gigs, and the things are always blowin'.

I have a Marshall JMP 100watt amp and a pre-amp valve is bust. How much are they to replace? are they hard to come by. thanx

I Paid for a complete refurbishment of the amp, as it is old (1960's) that was 120 quid in total. I got the valves from a guitar shop in my town, they were 15 pounds each if i remember right. That seemed a little steep but apparently the only place that still manufactures them is in russia, so they had to be imported.
You shouldnt have a problem reparing your amp, especially if it is a more recent model.
