What is?

I use the TBL Bassline its pretty darn good but of course
Muon Tau is the real mccoy. Can't seem to get automation to
work on the bugger though.

Any others I should know about?

I don't know if you've ever heard of this thing,...but it
does a damn good job at that price!

Yeah, Muon Tau is the boy. Shame the automation/midi mapping
is so gash. 303 emulators are one thing I insist on being
able to control with a midi controller.

Sounds it too... DL the demo mp3.

Not bad at all.

Rebirth is ok...........but it's lacking something i think

you can easily tell if a track has been done with Rebirth

with VSTi's i wanna be able to hear it and not be able to
tell the difference between the real one and the softsynth.

I dunno, if it's fxed/mastered well, it is pretty much
impossible, but in its raw, unprocessed form, it's not
that accurate.

Yeah you can tell if smth was done in RB. And yeah, you
can't after it was mastered:)

the such song:)

They'll never be able to emulate those transistors
properly!
Just can't get the slides right

no you can tell, if you just run rebirth without rewire and
effects or anything, it just sounds crappy

in my view, a good VSTi emulation is something that sounds
exactly (or damn near to) the same as the real thing
straight out of the box.....no extra effevts needed, no
extra mastering or anything

and rebirth just doesn't deliver in my opinion

but if you can get it to sound like the real thing, good
going :)
it probably can be done, but like i said - i want a VSTi to
sound like the real thing straight out the box

The automation just doesn't seem to work at all with Muon
Tau which is gutted 'cause it has a great sound. Very few
VSTi supposed automation functions work. The TBL Bassline
that I use is fully automable and thats great as a result.

Rebirth sounds excellent. It's not crap just because it was
first. FM or Keyboard did a blind test between RB and a
TB-303 and it was impossible to tell what was what. Not to
mention different software versions. If you can tell what
did what, then there's probably something else going on in
the sound apart from the 303 waves.

AudioRealism Bass Line is the best one
...and Tau2 comes second

I just blind tested myself with the ABL samples...

results:

4 I correctly identified.
2 I couldn't tell which was real and which wasn't.
1 I guessed incorrectly (I jumped the gun and assumed one
was real, before listening to the other sample).

i think rebirth is good enuff to do the job. just fuck the
sound up untill it doesnt sound like it's exactly a 303
anymore and try and get some more interesting sounds. dont
get me wrong i love the 303 but you can still make wicked
acid sounds that dont sound exactly like the 303 (i think
the mc 202 has a more interesting acid sound that the 303
cos the slide and filters are different from the 303 and
still just as unique/distinctive)
